**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S22 Family Thread ****

I would say the exclusive colours are 100% not worth it on this device (unless you are using a clear case, I guess?!), the anodising is awful and very susceptible to scuffs. I don't think it's worth waiting for those exclusive colours with those lead times. If you aren't using a case on this phone (and it looks like you aren't intending to) then expect it to look very used after a few weeks of normal use, the back is an absolute magnet for blemishes!

Day 3 and I'm getting around 5.5 hours SoT, it's definitely improving as the days go on.

I ordered Graphite, and plan to use a clear case and it seems it might be worth just waiting a few extra weeks for everything to be patched anyway.

Also, the S-Pen won't just be a boring black on the exclusive colours :D

There's nothing major to be patched. These wait time justifications aren't necessary.

Ouch, pretty scathing from XDA on the Exynos S22 Ultra. I was seriously thinking about pre-ordering, but was mainly hoping for a significiant improvement in battery life over the S21U. With many reviews highlighting poor battery performance year-on-year that's a red flag for me. However, will give it a few months to see if software improves things.

For now, the only thing I can say is to hold off on purchasing the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra for now if you live in Europe, because as it stands right now, the Exynos 2200 Galaxy S22 Ultra is completely unusable as a daily driver. It’s incredibly laggy and the battery life is terrible, too.

More than half the time with screen off, my phone isn't actually in deep sleep

Anyone aware of a no-root method to detect wakelocks keeping the device awake?

I charged mine to around 80% yesterday, used it all day, listening to music, fiddling around and such, at 1 am I still had 30% battery left. I didn't have my usual hour long call with my partner but I'm happy with that battery life. It will only improve as the phone tunes itself and gets updates.

My old S20 charger (which I am keeping) charged it fully in under an hour.

Sounds a little similar to what I had on my unit. Mega lock ups even on initial setup pages. It was faulty, new replacement on its way. I have my sister's handset and its running with no performance issues.

Regarding the scuffing of the anodised metal, I did contact Samsung livechat and they said the exclusive colours are a different material than the standard colours, they cannot confirm exactly what material but it is more than just different colours marked as exclusive. So I would assume that the same anodised finish scratching etc should not be an issue on the exclusive colours.

I been using mine intensively for a day and it definitely not as quick or as smooth as my old Fold 2.

Issues I've experienced so far:
- On initial setup while entering my google account it went into a loop and I had to restart the process.
- Samsung Launcher is not optimised and clashes with certains apps making the screen go black or turning screen off
- Unable to use Live wallpaper, they become laggy and skip frames
- Experiencing odd delay when swiping up on homescreen to go into app draw after directly unlocking the device
- Samsung TV Plus doesn't work, crashes and causes my device to reboot
- Chrome browser has black screen issue and required 'Android SurfaceControl' flag to be switched off
- Had 1 random reboot

I don't remember ever owning a phone that had so many little niggles.

The black screen/display issue is known and will be patched soon as noted by Samsung rep in Members app. The byproduct of that bug is likely the frame skips also as it's a display driver/software issue.

Could well just be livechat rep gassing, but I'll wait until I have it in my hands lol.
I really don't think Samsung would use different materials for the exclusive variants, mainly due to cost. From photos and video, it seems they're using the black model as the base and applying the different colour back covers.

You can see it in this unboxing of the red version
