**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S22 Family Thread ****

Looking forward to seeing this, the note 20 Ultra was immense apart from the low light camera performance .

Samsung have upped their game on updates, given the odd.press around the 2200. I'm going to wait for reviews to come out an longer term test. My s21 ultra and Pixel 6 Pro are both decent.

Only issue I have with the s21 is the unrealistic colour reproduction in pictures taken , this has been a Samsung issue now for a while. Why they don't fix it I don't know , put it side to side with a Pixel or iPhone and the colours are usually off.

In the green colour this phone does look nice and I do miss the note stylus

I been a Samsung mobile phone user for many years now starting from the S3,
But am really thinking of changing to apple this time mainly due to they support there mobile phones with major updates for far longer

A family member has an old iphone 6s which was released in 2015 and apple still supported it with there latest major update
Samsung doesn't even support major updates for my Samsung Note 9 which was released in 2018

But the older iPhones slow down and have plenty of features missing. I upgraded my mother from an iPhone 6s to the iPhone 13. Apart from messages and calling, the 6S as slow with everything else.

This is my opinion but the more i see about the S22 series the more disappointed i'm becoming, latest being the S22 Ultra starting with only 8GB memory & 128GB of storage for the same price or slightly more than last years S21 Ultra, also i bet it will be impossible after pre orders are fulfilled to get either the 12GB/256GB or 512GB due to chip shortages in stores if you're willing to pay the price for these.

Also the Exynos 2200 while it be fine for most, could end up being a disappointment as well.

To be honest, we have hit a point now with all phones for the past few years. Apple cant offer anything exciting or Samsung. Its either bigger screen or better camera. Which doesn't matter from the previous models.

They are generally struggling to sell new phones, especially with the increased price tag every year. No one is changing phones every year like back in the Sony Ericsson and Nokia days.

I quite like the new One UI on Android 12. The interface is very nice. My S20 Ultra is now the phone it should have been from the start but never was for the first several months, while they bug fixed. I'm not looking forward to this pain again, it was pretty dreadful with calls dropping constantly and it switching to wireless calling and switching back. I will disable that feature to prevent that pain again. Hopefully the software will be more polished this time, out of the gate. I'm almost loath to update but like shiny things too much. I guess it will come down to price.

Rumors alleging shortages when released

"According to the new rumor, the S22 series will go on pre-order right after the big event on February 9 but official sales will be postponed to February 25 for the S22 Ultra and March 11 for the S22 and S22+ variants."

Usually Samsung phones are pretty stable on launch S20 Ultra being the slight exception because of the camera, but Samsung are usually quick to fix or try to fix bugs.

Seems brave to preorder, especially if we get stuck with the Exynos again. Not much positive coming out about that chipset so far.

From what I understand from the rumours, neither the Snapdragon or Exynos are perfect - SD performs well but overheats and the Exynos performance isn't great vs Apple - ultimately it's only leaks as things stand on the Exynos so we'll have to see.

My main issue is there's not really another flagship regardless of which way the CPU/GPU goes other than the iPhone. Pixel is probably the closest but just doesn't do it for me so invariably I'll be pre-ordering the S22 Ultra as well and will return if it's terrible at launch.

Well, i am going to watch the event. see what pre-order goodies we get. if i don't like either sad to say i will be switching to the dark side (iPhone 13 pro max) and apple watch 7. It will be. and if i do get the s22 ultra and it's bad. it will be the last Samsung i get.
I have to say for me and my use the s22 ultra has been brilliant. Battery life is brilliant. screen is lovely/ tbh i do nto realy need to upgrade. but i am a yearly upgrader.
