**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S22 Family Thread ****

Well, i am going to watch the event. see what pre-order goodies we get. if i don't like either sad to say i will be switching to the dark side (iPhone 13 pro max) and apple watch 7. It will be. and if i do get the s22 ultra and it's bad. it will be the last Samsung i get.
I have to say for me and my use the s22 ultra has been brilliant. Battery life is brilliant. screen is lovely/ tbh i do nto realy need to upgrade. but i am a yearly upgrader.
S21 is close to perfect, camera in lowlight is bad and colour accuracy is off, if they fix these combined with a note form factor it will be great.

Just hope this Exynos isn't a step backwards and battery is as good as the s21 ultra.

Have the Pixel 6 Pro also but there is something not quite right about it, only thing is the camera which is better but images seem a bit overprocessed.

Bit of advertising before release
I'm hoping the S22U is a "note" indisduise as my N20U battery is starting to discharge quickly

Currently got the S10+
Is the S22+ going to be a decent update?

looking at some of the leaked spec, saying its got a larger screen but not QHD like my S10.
Then there's the case, S10 glass, S22 plastic.

Is this going to feel like a downgrade?

The more I'm thinking about the new s22 ultra the more I'm not liking what i am reading. I am going to skip this release. I am not prepared to gamble on the new chipset. sucks we don't get a choice. So I'm off to apple for at least a year.

pre-order goodies have been leaked. That was the main thing i liked about Samsung. But if the leaks are correct it is going to be either buds pro(which are amazing bar the allergic reaction some people get me included) buds 2 or a galaxy watch 4.

The resale of each of them is not the greatest.
Hope the phone is good for those who are getting it.

I'm in a similar position, but going to wait for full reviews side by side, drain tests etc compared with the S21 ultra and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Not going to bother with pre-order

The thing is with reviews. most are not what i would call honest. They have 9/10 been sent the phone for free. there is only a few people i would actually trust to give honest reviews. And those reviews won't be until after we ourselves could get their hands on them.

Most reviews including the actual unpacked event will be about the snapdragon. so when watching that event, the cameras ect will be based on that chipset.
most people who have the actual phone in there and now but are under nda will also have the Snapdragon variant,. again a totally diff phone to the Samsung chipset.

Last thing anybody wants to do is go pre ordering the Exynos version of these phone's just in case the 2200 is a bag of overheating underperforming poo.

a lot of people got stung with the Exynos 990 me included, while ok for general everyday use soon as you pushed it slightly it went into meltdown, the Exynos 2200 could potentially be another or worst than Exynos 990 in comparison with thermal's & performance to the Snapdragon version of the S22.

Oh also Samsung has now discontinued the S21 Ultra this could be a red flag to the performance of the Exynos 2200, because I'm sure they still had the S20 Ultra for sale on their own site when the S21 Ultra landed last year.

Why is it the last thing when you can just return it.

Either way its pointless guessing.

On another note, The new Snapdragon is actually a good chip if you've seen Dave2ds latest video on it. People were already writing that off because of headlines.

I have to disagree about Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

And back to the real world...

Add to that the improved AI and ISP chops.

Fine for day to day stuff but chokes on some slightly demanding games. Yes ISP and all but it comes down to software tuning. OnePlus 10 Pro photos are far from Impressive.

Likewise I'm going to wait for real longer term review and proper camera hands on, they always do 15% deals around April/May time.

I'm not gamer so not my jam. The SoC is the subject here not the host phone.

Battery life on day to day tasks and camera performance is my jam.
