Just by ear. My hearing is actually far greater than my eyesight, which is kinda funny as I am a photographer
I tend to be able to hear things most cannot, like the faint whine differences between phone charger adapters from several feet away.
Also worth noting that when you set up an EQ, OneUI will remember that EQ for that output device, so if you set it when no bluetooth speaker/headphone etc is connected, then it will apply it to the speakers. When you connect some earphones, you can then set a new fresh EQ for those and it will remember.
I don't listen to music on the phone any more (WFH) but when I did I used Adapt Sound to tune the output to my ears and IEMs specifically. Again the same applies here, Adapt Sound will remember what device connected you are tuning, then remember that. Whne you disconnect your earphones, Adapt Sound will go into standby until they are connected again.
I had JayBird X3s and had a custom EQ set up within the JayBird app as it sent that EQ direct to the earbuds so I could listen with my EQ on whatever device I was paired with at the time. So essentially it went like this for my setup:
1: Set up Adapt Sound in the phone with the earphones connected.
2: Set up an EQ in your earphone maker's app if available, otherwise use the Samsung EQ to do the same thing.
3: Have the above posted EQ for the speakers only so you get better fidelity from the phone speakers.
It all just kinda works flawlessly after that point really.
Edit*
4G and 5G speeds are faster on this than on the S20 5G by up t 200Mbps on 5G. 4G I've had it that fast before easily though, so the new 5G radio seems to hold a stronger signal for sure.
I took a couple of photos as is tradition when I get a new phone:
I then flicked through some old photos and have to say the S22 Ultra reminded me a lot of the Xperia Z3 I had back in the day. The minimal/clinical look with a splash of colour in key areas and sharp cut corners keeping the form going. I do miss that phone...
