**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S22 Family Thread ****

My Graphite order hasn't changed, it still says heading to my country.

On a separate note, I finally went into Curry's to have a play with a S22 Ultra, it was the 8Gb/128Gb model.
And my word it was super fluid and fast at doing everything I tried on it. Opened lots of apps, repeatedly, anything I could find I opened and reopened just to try and trip it up, and it didn't faulter.
I did check to make sure it wasn't in performance mode, and it was set to Optimised.
I didn't check to see if it was set to Demo mode though.
Obviously it wasn't loaded up with hundreds of photo's or messages, social media or anything. So will just have to see how mine (12Gb/256Gb) performs when it arrives

So I've got an email from Samsung saying delivery is scheduled for the 11th, not sure if that's the S22 or the Ultra though...

Come to the dark side. Take a bite from that forbidden fruit that is Apple.

I can honestly say i have not regretted it one bit.

It's never going to happen :p At least for a number of reasons.

Maybe the day I can have my homescreen and app drawer exactly how I want rather than limited to a bunch of options that Apple think I want. And then I wirelessly fast charge pretty much everywhere and only use wired in a pinch. iPhones only fast charge wirelessly when using Magsafe which I don't want to adopt at extra cost and then a couple years later they decide to ditch it for something else. Normal wireless charge is 7.5" on iPhones and that's just too slow.

Also I do not want to have to re-buy apps and build a completely new app library, plus there isn't an app like Solid Explorer on iOS, there is Files and you can connect to network shares but it's just not the same kind of experience as what I am used to and have set up:

Oooooh nice, post some pics when it arrives!
Well the initial 4 weeks from order date was today for the online exclusive colours but I'm pretty sure it won't be arriving today now :D

That's nice to hear :)

Depends on which one arrives tomorrow hah, could be the S22 which my my bro in law's, although his says the 11th on Samsung's orders page whilst my Ultra says 10th, yet the tracking says 11th which leads me to assume it means the Ultra as that's the one I can currently click to track!

Mine has now moved back to "Headed to your country", going to try see if the live chat will be any help at all (Very much doubt it) as my date was today and I haven't been informed of any delay.

This whole process has been a bit of a mess really lol. I got a text today from DPD saying it will arrive today now, the email yesterday said it was coming on the 11th and the email title said it was a Galaxy Fold too!

Yeh it doesn't half seem a mess, but congratulations :) Hopefully you enjoy it.

It is a mess if

1: The email title says I'm receiving a completely different phone!
2: The email body contains meta tags that are incomplete
3: Two different messages from Samsung/Courier with two different delivery dates/times
4: Loading the orders page in the Samsung account area online says "no orders in history" and you have to refresh the page multiple times before it shows order history

That is the very definition of a mess surely :o

Will see what turns up today!

All of the emails I've had about mine from Samsung have said things like "Get ready for your Galaxy Fold!".

Samsung probably just reused the same email system they had set up for custom Folds and forgot to change it.

Mines still sitting at customisation complete.

I also had issues with the page showing orders when I bought my mum a Tab S6 Lite a while back, so that page issue is nothing new! Still doesn't excuse them for not fixing it! I also find the page is temperamental when clicking the more info buttons...

Etheco is agreeing with you ;) "Doesn't half seem a mess" doesn't mean it doesn't seem that much of a mess.

Same as you regarding the customization complete and Galaxy Fold email:D

Well this is deffo my last Samsung handset, my customer support run around is now getting ridiculous.
For anyone interested here's a hilarious timeline:

1: Pre-Ordered s22u with a an S21u trade-in
2: Handset deivered 21st Feb
3: S21u posted 26th Feb via RMSD
4: Monday 7th I get a Knox lock message
5: Samsung support say they haven't received my handset
6: Royal says delivered but it actually get returned to me Monday 7th.
7: Samsung support say they think a full delivery from RM was refused, they dont know why.
8: I tell them to cancel the trade in and issue me an invoice for the remaining balance (£570)
9: This is done but for the full amount of phone.
10: Online chat cant help so spent 51 minutes onl hold to sort it, another invoice is issued for the correct amount.
11: I try to pay it but cant because it's in someway linked to a repair that doesnt exist
12: Another 32 minutes on hold, finally the correct invoice is issued which I pay yesterday
13: My Knox lock message is still on the handset
14: I contact phone support they can't help, give me an email address to contact
15: No response after 24 hours so today I contact online support
16: They cant remove the lock message but give a phone number to contact for the trade in team, she say they can remove it.
17: I phone the number, the trade in actually cant remove the lock message because guess what...they dont work for Samsung and have no access to their technical.
18: He also tells me the [email protected] inbox has over 20k unread emails currently so reponse times are so long its basically pointless to email it, upto 1 week to respond.
19: I contact online chat again and they tell me to day exactly the same....she assures me they are the right team
20: I'm out / done. had enough. Last Samsung I buy.

That's absolutely sums up Samsung and many other manufacturers. That's why I can't help but get most of my stuff off Amazon.

Well it was indeed delivered today!

DPD did a right number on the box though, luckily phone box itself is fine

Anyways, here's what some wanted to see!

I like the AR coating on the lenses, not seen that on previous Galaxy phones before and probably something to do with the clearer lenses Samsung claimed in the announcements.

It stands!

I installed that Taui screen protector which seems to have gone smoothly but I think I bend the film a bit too much during application as there's a faint line of dots along one edge where you place the spreader thing, not too fussed about this though so it's all good:

Do like the matte black frame:

And as suspected, the colour closely matches my watch!

Gonna take a little getting used to the extra size and I will set everything up a bit later.

Yeah I was miffed when there were literally no videos or photos showing the matte frame, only passing comments but I was sure it had to be matte.

As for camera, looking forward to it, the next full moon you can be sure I'll be out grabbing closeups of that bad boy :D
