**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S23 Family Thread ****

Good luck with that can of worms :D

I charge on a regular over night basis to 85%.
Then every so often charge fully to 100%

This is with a Samsung wireless charger stand set on slow charge.

The fast charger, Anker adapter linked above, (that's currently on offer) powers my wireless charger, and just gets plugged directly into the phone when I need a fast charge top up.

Ah so you're one of those people who has it limited to 85%? I my do the same but charge it to 100% when I know i'm going to have a big day out...although I know there are two sides to this strategy and quite some discussion.

However, in my case I keep my phones for 4+ years (last phone was an S10+) so life is pretty important to me

Any S23+ owners here? I'm looking at getting a new phone for my son and this looks like a good upgrade for him.

Just wanted to make sure no big issues from any current owners. Thanks.

I moved from an S23 Ultra to S23+, just due to wanting to have a phone which is more managable in the hand. I found the Ultra to be huge.

You mentioned it`s for your son, depending on his age and size of hands the S23+ is still reasonably big. Apart from the size differences between the three S23 sizes available, they are very similar spec-wise. Obviously, each size you go up, you will see an increase in battery capacity and a larger screen, extra zoom capability on the Ultra, but under the hood, they are the same. No complaints here with the S23+.

Thanks - that's helpful context. He's looking for something with a decent battery and a bigger display size, which is why we ignored the vanilla S23.

We did go to a store and compared the S23+ and S23 Ultra, and as you've mentioned, he found the latter just too big and cumbersome to use as a daily driver. The S23+ felt better in the hand. I doubt he would use the S-Pen of the Ultra and the extra zoom would be lost on him, looks like the S23+ is the front runner. Now just need to find a good deal!

Same.

If I go out clubbing/gigs, then charge to 100%. This is because it's important for the phone to be alive for railway tickets, navigating to the venue by foot, QR code to get into the venue, communicating with bar staff (I'm deaf), contactless payments, taking photos/videos and booking/catching an Uber. I do this about 8 or 10 times a year.

Any other day of the year - 85% which will get me 2 days a pop.

To be honest, as it is Oneui5 is already advanced, so any changes will only be incremental I'm sure, but looking forward. In my old days, I would have already side loaded, but can't be bothered anymore
It's more the backend changes that Android 14 brings to the table, rather than the frontend changes now really. Like you say, they've more or less perfected the OneUi element.

If you find one do post here please, I'll do the same. Looking for a S23+ to buy for the wife, to replace the S21+ I got her 2 years ago, should be nice upgrade.
Yep will do. Haven't seen anything as the deals around June time, hopefully there will be some back to school deals soon...!

I'm sure Samsung will have some offers to disrupt the Pixel/iPhone new phone launches too.

May I ask if you use any special software when you need verbal replies? I've been using the app by Google but it's pretty awful, especially in noisy situations...like anywhere outside. Maybe it depends on the quality of the mobile phone too? I'm using a Pixel 2 at the moment.

I use Deaf Note to display what I want to say to bar staff. Unfortunately I haven't found any apps that can transcribe background speech into subtitles, but I am interested for suggestions from anyone on here.
