Freeze what? The question was regarding how to get rid of the quick buttons on the pulldown notification panel.

Open Titanium backup, then select system apps, then freeze s-finder and quick connect apps. And any other Samsung BS bloat you find.

I did this on my Tab S and it got rid of the pull down shortcuts.

Doesn't work like that on the S6. I've already frozen/deleted most Samsung apps.

The managed to get rid of it by changing my device CSC in the build prop but not long after my device boot looped. So I'm looking for a different method.

Very interesting discovery so far that has made the rounds. Charging the S6 with a normal charger, say your old S5 for example, is providing a longer charge compared to a fast charge. Going to be buying a normal charger this week, but so far a fair few people have seen positive results from charging this way.

Wouldn't surprise me. I used to run RC cars, and it was known that using a lower charge current got a slightly higher capacity out of the battery. The difference was fairly small though. I wouldn't expect it to be more than 5%.

Anyone reaching any conclusions on improvements gained from using slow charge over fast charge, disabling Google Now etc? I.e. are the easy tweaks seeing battery life gains?

I'm one of those people who spends ages researching my phones as I use them so much and keep them for two years. I'd love to get an S6, but the battery life is a killer....I'm desperately hunting for something that'll make me feel it's something I can live with :) A reliable 4 hours screen on time (80% browsing) and 15 hours between charges will do it for me.

Slow charge reduces the heat while charging which is why I do it. As we all have plenty of time on an overnight charge. Excess heat is never good for a battery's longevity, so every little helps when it's a sealed in unit.

Battery is more then fine, just let it run in. Do the tweaks I've suggested, root it, debloat it, install the script L Speed on XDA, you'll be more then happy.

For anyone interested can currently get it for £31.99 for an unlimited 5GB contract on EE with £29.99 upfront cost with the code MSEBLAGGEDS6 from Mobile Phones Direct. Quidco stands at £40 as well currently although may not go through as you're already using a promotional code.

Hey guys, I'm calling EE tomorrow to find out what they'll offer me as an upgrade on my ongoing contract. This'll be my first upgrade since 2011. The SGS2 has done a good job, it owes me nothing. I'm expecting an upgrade to a top phone for almost free like when I paid £10 for my SGS2 in 2011.

I'm not interested in the iphones as I prefer to stay with android, and though there are many other nice phones out there, I'm used to the way samsung galaxy phones work, so is the G6 the way forward?

Have most of you found it to be a really good bit of kit or would you go with a different phone now that you've used the S6?

Is it better than the G5?

Also, the wireless charging interests me, but is it actually worthwhile? You still have to plug something into the wall and being wireless would charge slower I guess? Is the battery life good, or let's say, better/considerably better than on my SGS2?

Yes its better than the G5 in many ways. The build quality, screen, speed and especially camera quality.

IMO wireless charging is a waste of time....it's slow and causes the phone to heat up a fair bit.

I'm loving wireless charging, I have the fast charger downstairs for emergencys and wireless charger on my desk which I'm now using daily.

I think it works great, it's about as fast as charging with a standard 2a charger so I wouldn't call it slow, just slow compared to fast charging.

It does get a little warm but I don't think it's an issue.
