*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

They flag the account based on the number of returns you do in a short time and they purge their systems every year so they wouldn't flag up one return every year.

Very interesting. Thanks for the tip, it's nice to know. I'm used to Apple's support chain, so knowing if I have a problem Amazon will replace/refund my device quite quickly.

What do they tend to do? Replace or refund faulty devices? I read that they even try to repair them for you?!

Thanks

I've found Amazon support top notch thus far, only real advantage Apple has is having a physical store but I've found that annoying at times since they won't see you without an appointment, compared to a quick online talk with someone from Amazon.

It's a good option to have knowing that if your device developes a fault, Amazon will replace or refund it. I guess they'll even send a replacement handset out before they get the faulty one back.

Battery never lets me down, keep getting a consistent 4hrs SoT. But there does seem to be a bit of an overnight drain, judging from the chart.

Not sure exactly what it is, but I have a S6 standard 64GB, on 3 which I'd flashed to BTU, and I've just had a software update come through.
Edit - now on G920FXXU1AOE3

Yep, that's the latest update which I flashed the other day.

What were the update details? I flashed it with odin so no idea what was changed. :p

Apologies for the really stupid question, but does flashing with Odin erase all your data (contacts, apps, photos etc.)?

So after a week or so with the S6 I find myself a bit disappointed with the overall experience.

I've had pretty much every Samsung flagship since the S2 and I still find myself having to do just too much to get things just right when I think the phone should work just flawlessly out of the box.

The biggest disappointment for me has been battery life, but perhaps it's a bit too harsh of a criticism coming from the Note 4. Having said that though, my S5 which I have as a spare is able to get much better battery life. Now I understand the S6 is a different phone in its entirety and has more power to provide for the screen and such, but I think compared to last years flagship of the S5, the S5 lasts longer doing the same tasks.

I am just about to sell my S6 (going on MM if anyone is interested!) and will keep my S5 until I decide what to do from here. I think a Note 4 is outta the question as the reason I sold that was I could not get accustomed to the size no matter how hard I tried.

It's a shame but I just can't justify the upgrade enough to warrant me to keep this phone.

How much screen on time are you getting El1te? I'm really happy with the battery life on mine.

Plus the adaptive charger is just nuts!

I'd say about 3.5 hours at most..

The adaptive charger is insane indeed, getting this thing fully charged in just about an hour is great, but I really don't know why the battery is not good at all, I've not even got any rogue apps or such and i keep brightness on auto at around 30%

Well I regularly get over 5hrs screen on time. Not really taken any measure to improve battery life. I even still use touchwiz.

Maybe it's some rogue app killing it slowly?

That's quite a lot more screen time, hmm I think I will have to install BBS and see if it tells me anything more

I was really quite set on getting on of these phones, but wider reading tells me that battery life is likely to be too much of an issue. I used to have an HTC Desire HD, which has made me exceptionally wary about low battery life. Literally every single review mentions the battery life on the S6 as being average at best, poor at worst. This all seems odd with lots of people saying they get 4-5 hours screen on time, which is adequate for me, but there are plenty of people getting 3 to 3.5 hours, which is too low.

So either there's something on Android causing excessive drain (which seems possible but only as a contributory factor) or Samsung simply made the battery too small for the phone.
