*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

Yep, feeling a bit short changed with the curved screen to be honest. It looks lovely and crisp but compared to my Note 3 feels small, would have preferred and flat screen had it been an option.

Maybe it's me but I have a note 3 and a S6 Edge but didn't think the Edge Plus was small?

It's not, it has the exact same size screen as the Note 3, however it looks a fair bit smaller than the Note 3 which I suspect is due to the curved screen.

I thought it might be a bias on my part say I'm somewhat sold on the Edge Plus having wanted a note five dual curved screen which isn't going to happen :)

Yeah, looks absolutely incredible. Looking at pictures and videos is amazing. Didn't expect all that much to be fair. Thought it would've been more gimmick than anything but I'm pleasantly surprised by it.

I'm with O2. Paid £9.99 for the handset. £40 a month. Unlimited minutes and texts. 10gb of data.

Was paying £34 on last contract for 750mb of data so I don't mind whatsoever.

How did you get that for 40 a month? they want 54 from me for that package, and ive been with them 20 years! :p

You want to look further afield I get unlimited everything and an s6 for £32, check this link.

http://www.moneysupermarket.com/mobile-phones/brands/samsung/galaxy-s6-32gb-black/

I am currently on unlimited/unlimited/5gb for 22 a month on O2 with 300 left to pay on the z3/ I can sell the z3 for 300ish locally and so am looking at the edge plus handset. Best i can see is 50quid upfront and 40 a month for same tariff.

I guess i should just pay off the handset and start again and port the number to get the best deal, as o2 themselves dont seem to be offering me much in the way of a good deal to keep me there.

Has anyone made a jump from the note 4 to the s6 edge plus? Happy with the jump?

I hardly use the s pen I only use it to crop something from Twitter/web page which I will probably miss but other then that I don't really use the spen..

The edge screen tempting me to go upgrade tomorrow

Sounds like the deal I'm after. Is this an online only deal, upgrade or walk in to the shop? If I can come up with a couple of quotes I can negotiate with the (third party) supplier I'm with called Daisy Telecommunications. Though they tell me the don't do EE, which I find hard to believe. I'm not happy with Vodafone Thanks

I got it just by clicking upgrade on the My O2 app. It came up as a preorder option on the 16th when I preordered.

Hold on, just found Google Play Services 8.1 at xda it appears to have sorted the phone sleeping issues somewhat.

It's not on store yet.

A couple of questions

Afternoon all.
I'm on the verge of clicking my mouse and buying an S6 edge +, I'm off on holidays on Wednesday and wanted a phone with a good camera.

I'd be moving from a htc one M9, I fancied a change as I don't feel the M9 was a big step forward from the M8, ok the camera is slightly better but let's be honest could it have got any worse.

So before I click the buy button I've got a couple of questions:

I've noticed in a few post the mention of the screen scratching, is this a big problem as I'd imagine fitting a screen protector would be a bit of a nightmare.

Have Samsung cut down on the bloatware, I know they said they were but have they really cut out some of the rubbish.

What's the camera like on this phone, I know Samsung have a good reputation for their cameras but is this one good out of the box.

1) Only had mine since Friday so can't comment on the screen scratching. However, my girlfriend has the standard S6 and hers has one tiny scratch on it but that's due to it going in her handbag with all the other **** in there. If you buy a good quality screen protector, they're easier to fit.

2) Comes with about 10 apps but I've uninstalled about 7 of them.

3) The camera is absolutely incredible. It feels a hell of a lot better than the standard S6 one but that could be due to the screen size.

Took a few pics of my S6 Edge+.

Re the scratching it's not a problem at all, camera is brilliant and re the s6 vs s6e camera quality noted above that could be the difference between the Sony camera vs the Samsung isocell , the Samsung isocell is waaaay better than the htc effort on their M phones.

Thanks guys, it's reassuring the hear the camera is good and the bloatware seems to have gone. I may just take the plunge, it's just a case of shall I give the CC a hiding and buy outright or go for a monthly plan. I'm on a rolling monthly sim only plan at the moment, I never keep a phone for more than a year so it may be the credit card :-)

Finally upgraded from my beloved Note 2, which I've had for years. I had planned to buy the Note 5 but it's European unavailability had me get the S6 edge plus. Very happy so far.

PS - so nice to have Xcom on my phone!
