Hmmm, I have XEF 6.0.1 installed. Does anyone know any reason to go for the BTU?

Still no OTA marshmallow on the s6?? Pretty poor going Samsung.

It seems they are more interested in launching the s7 than supporting existing customers.

It's out for the BTU S6 devices. I had to go to settings > about device to start the update.

If you own an unbranded Samsung phone, the CSC (Country Service Code) is BTU (United Kingdom).

OTA came out on the 7th, you should only have to check for updates from the about menu

Still nothing for me when I check for updates.

Phone is a sim free bought from Amazon France if that makes any difference.

I bought my S6 sim free from Amazon Uk and got the update, its possible that as the the phone was purchased from France this may be the reason your having issues.

Yes it does make a difference.

Just download the BTU firmware and install it with Odin, it's easy.

None what-so-ever, unless you plan on selling it soon and need to return it to BTU firmware.

Not sure about still getting updates (not that there that frequent anyway), but it definitely won't clear down your phone (all your apps, pics, vids, contacts etc will still be there)

From Sammobile:

Instructions
 Extract (unzip) the firmware file
 Download Odin v3.10.7
 Extract Odin ZIP file
 Open Odin v3.10.7
 Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
 Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
 Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
 Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
 Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes
