Colours and details seem to be rendered exceptionally well too. I can see myself making evenb more use of the camera than ever before. Need some realtime HDR video samples in low light now too.

Remember press shots are generally not that accurate (same goes for all manufacturers).

Time to start looking at the alternatives.

The S6 just seems like such a backwards step. Removable battery gone (needed this plenty of times on S2 and S4, just to hard reset the bloody thing sometimes). Expandable storage gone, so it will cost me vastly more to get anything approaching sensible storage.

Add in other developments like aluminium body, glass backed etc. and they've virtually gone and made a slightly bigger iPhone 4S. :/

Not getting the excitement on this one, unless i've missed something massive? About the only innovative thing about it is the edge nonsense but i'm yet to actually understand quite what this achieves other than 'ooooh' factor and a screen that's probably much more susceptible to breakage?
This TBH. Some of the reasons to go for something not Apple (removable battery, upgradeable external storage) and the same reasons everyone used to hate iPhones in one convenient package.

I have to say, the phone feels very nice in the hand. And looks much better 'in the flesh' than in pictures. Really nice iridescent look to the turquoise and Sapphire black ones. Lovely screen and really like the utility of the edges myself. I do wonder what the price premium for that will be, though.

If you check the Eixf you can see that shot was a RAW capture. Zooming in 100% you can tell it's a phone pic but for web use nobody would be any wiser if it was shot using a phone or bridge camera or even in some cases, an entry level dslr. Seems Samsung have started to use the camera 2.0 API advances from Lollipop for the greater good.

Base! I was still in the ballpark with average £650 prediction and I cannot see that changing :p

Lulwut!

It was always the base price...weasel.

do I need to quote you :p

Yes... I do

I predict £650.

Yeah but the S6 is Samsung's own SOC and runs circles around the competition flagship from Qualcomm. That alone has £££ written all over it!

You work in the press??

Looks great but that size battery with a 1440p screen sounds horrendous. The LG G3 is bad enough and this one's battery is some 20% smaller.

So I was still in the ballpark then? I said I predict £650, and it appears it will be between £550 and £710 for the non Edge depending on storage flavour!

Are people forgetting samsung released a 1440p version of the s5 in korea?

Anandtech stated it had a minimal/0 effect on battery life...dont ask me how though :p

Edit: in fact it has better battery life!

I'd be happy with either! If either of you pop them on the MM drop me a trust :)

Next few days Mate when I get a chance to get everything together for MM.
I'm quite happy to sell in the next week or so.

But I will be able to afford to eat.

Don't worry about me Mate. I'll still get to eat three meals a day and pay my mortgage and still enjoy the S6. Thanks ever so much for your concern :p

Stoosh will likely get bored in 3 weeks, then you can get a health discount.

Haha.... I'm not that bad! The Z3 lasted a couple of months and I would happily stay with it but the S6 is too tempting! ;)
