So, doing a bit more looking into the 'edge' and i'm just as underwhelmed by the features it supposedly offers.
Edge light, to light up and be visible at the edges for all those caring attentive people who leave their phones screen down on the table. Great.
Edge people, where you can swipe from the side and it lists your 5 most used contacts. Whoopee, why does that need a curvy screen though? You can still swipe from the edges of flat screens.
Edge clock, which shows a night time clock. Great. Again, don't see why this really needs a curvy screen, just feels like something to make it do.
Information stream, similar to the clock, make information scroll along the edge of the screen. Which you could do with a flat screen, the only advantage is for those people who want to see this information, but are restricted to a side on only viewing angle. Wow.
What on earth about any of that leads people to want to pay what will no doubt be a significant premium for it? Do people really spend that much money on a phone, just to put the things face down on a desk all the time to the point that a bit of screen at the edge being visible when someone rings you is a noteworthy feature?
