**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Just switched to BTU from VOD, instantly got the update, feels good. Smart switch made it easy to deal with the reset of data.

Wonder if it's possible to go back to VOD if needed? I read on xda it might not be.

That's you going from Vodafone firmware to Unlocked right? I've also got VOD firmware on my device and currently on G935FXXU1APB4 with Feb security patch.

All these updates and we're getting none of it..

Last time I used Odin and tinkered with my Samsung was with the S2, can I avoid any data reset if I want to load an unlocked firmware?

Which Odin version did you use? I tried with 3.09 & 3.10 and it just seemed to hang.

Did you also have seperate files to flash the BL/Phone/CSC etc?

I used 3.10, I had seperate files I put them all in the right section of ODIN, I didn't use the CSC marked HOME, I used the other one. That will wipe the phone but doesn't cause the hang you had.

Backup with smart switch to your pc and restore after, the phone is pretty much as you started barring a few settings I had to adjust.

If you are going to do it, best to wipe.

I am on 3 and today saw the VoLTE icon in the top bar, never knew this was supported on 3 or the S7 Edge?

I was in Ilford at the time. The only area I have seen it in as well.

Has anyone moved from iPhone to the S7? I've been away from the Android ecosystem since the S3, not sure if I'd be able to get on with it again after all this time as I do like iOS.

I don't really see the point in using them type of cases as the only part I really worry about breaking if I drop my phone is the screen and them type of cases leave the screen wide open to impact..

It's a happy medium. Still provides loads of protection. Can't stand cases with a flap.

Full surround cases ruin the look and feel of a phone like the S7 Edge :( The most I would ever have on my pwn phone is the Spigen Thin Fit really, everything else is just a no no!

Worth the small risk. We online spend all day debating design and style when a new phone is announced, then slap it in an ugly case!

It's quite slim profile and greatly reduces the risk of the phone slipping from my hand.

This one provides adequate enough protection and looks and feels nice to hold.

I'd get a dbrand but there are times I'll use the phone naked more than often so no point covering the back glass with a skin imo.
