Did you get anywhere with this, Scope?

I'm having the same problem now, since I updated OTA last night.
From what I've read on the net, it's due to me using Nova Launcher's gesture for Double Tap = Screen Lock.
I only get the "Enter pin instead of using fingerprint recognition because of security policy" message if I've locked the screen by double tapping. It works as normal if the screen has just timed out or been turned off with the power key.

Is your problem the same as I've described?

I initially used Nova, but not the double tapping feature.. I did a factory reset yesterday in order to try to eliminate the use of Nova (so back to Samsung only launcher), and it seemed to make a difference, but after 4-5 hours it started happening again.. I am still running Samsung launcher and it is still happening every now and then. (most of the time the screen will have locked itself following a time out)

My phone is only 2 days old, and I did a OTA update as soon as I switched it on, so cant comment on the problem prior to the latest update.

It can get annoying, and im not quite sure if its a hardware problem, or a software problem (most likely)..
 
Mines being delivered today, got the S7 noEedge. Unfortunately its going to my parents so I can't play 'til Sunday! Right now I am on my old Note 2, so I will probably see only a slight improvement ;)

Have to say, I was impressed with Vodafone support. I'm not due an upgrade 'tll July (and even then its 3 months before end of my contract) and when I explained on livechat what happened (wife dropped her phone, gave her mine as we have a 2 month old who was born 9 weeks early, she needs a phone) they waived the early upgrade fee.

Right, I think I have found why it is doing this.. If a third party software locks the screen (In my instance AC Display, for others things like Double Tap in Nova), you will have to open the screen with the code/pattern/etc.. I have been able to reproduce it by sending emails with and without ACDisplay, and its consistent.. This was introduced by a recent Security Policy update by Samsung.

Gold variant here too, looks more bronze like than an over the top gold.
 
There was a nice looking angled wireless charging stand that got a pretty good review from somebody on here, Robbie (MRK) maybe?
Not the fugly Samsung round one.

I've done a search but can't find it.

It would need to work with my S7E and the missus' S7

Anyone know which one I'm on about?

S7 Edge or standard S7?

Using a Zagg Original (wet application) here on S7E. Had it on for a month and going well so far. Had some issues with cases where the edges go over the screen so you'll need to find a good combo if you're planning on using a case as well.

Mines not had an update since the one a few weeks back. I'm normally a week or two behind when people start posting they have had an update. Might be a sim free thing?

The sim-free versions did get the latest update last week. What version does your phone say it's running at the moment?

Edit: Sorry, noticed you might be talking about the flat S7 and not the S7 Edge
