**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Alright I'm back from the 3 store.

The Edge is definitely the one to go for. Looks and feels so nice in both colours. The height is a little more than the Z3/Z5 but the rest looks the same in the flesh although the Edge feels thinner due to the curved glass and back. To get this kind of form into a 5.5" screen versus a 5.2 is pretty outstanding.

The camera loads, focuses and takes pictures near instantly. Surprised how quick it is and the dual pixel AF grid tracks subjects all around the screen which looks cool as hell.

Enabling video stabilisation disables focus tracking though and also enabling stabilisation decreases the video mode field of view (crops in) so I don't believe the S7 has a pure OIS implementation and is more like the hybrid found on the Z5.

1080p is 60fps. The in store charging cable connected wasn't fast charging and at 33% was saying a but over 1hr left until full so I expect fast charging methods to be even quicker.

Roll on the 8th March!

The demo models were running retail demo software so could not do any photo samples etc There was no lag or stutter at all.

"Enabling video stabilisation disables focus tracking" - This is software stabilisation + OIS.

OIS will always be working regardless. Z5 has no proper mechanical OIS.

I am running MM beta on the S6 and even that phone came alive, not had any lag issues the time I been on the beta. On full MM mind now.

I would imagine this baby will be butter all the time.

but it can still get burn in, the 950/xl as an always on display and some users have said they are seeing burn in and thats within 2 months~

i'll be turning that feature off when i receive my s7 edge, like i have on my 950xl

Just phoned three to upgrade and they were more expensive than I could find online on the same network.
I got frustrated and ended up asking for my PAC. The guy gave me it but did say to me not to use it till after Monday as there may be some internal deals coming out that they can offer me due to loyalty.

I was offered a few deals in store and they were willing to waver the one off payment too due to being an existing customer. Still said no though, happy with my current sim only plan.
