**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

what are the best contract deals people have had so far.

i'm currently with o2 and would love stay with them due to excellent network coverage in my area (West mids) but their contract prices are stupid high.

Vodafone seems the next best choice but unsure of customer service etc. When i was with them years ago it was terrible

I've had trouble with micro sd cards and phones in the past, I used them to store music on a samsung galaxy s3 and a htc one m8 and both times I had problems like corrupt files and slow loading times.

It's the only thing putting me off buying the S7 Edge. Has the technology improved?

Just popped into town and paid a visit to the Samsung store...I really, really wish the Edge was the size of the normal S7. It would be a very easy choice then. I love the screen on the Edge, but it's just a bit too big.

Also is there any reason why the S7 can't have the same side swipe menu as the Edge? It's a really cool function and it annoys me that it's not available on the S7...

Really like the solid black, hate the chrome bits on my note 5 around the home button and camera. Looking forward to the note 6 with the battery life reports of the s7 and the come back of the sd slot! :)

I've been doing the math between buying the phone outright and getting like a 15-20 quid a month sim only deal with good data usage and a contract where you pay 35ish a month and 120 upfront for the phone

Over 2 years the difference is hardly anything. I kind of sold myself on just buying the phone outright this time, but doesn't seem worth parting with 600 quid now to save like 20 quid over 2 years.

Yeah I don't think there is much in it these days. Personally I'd rather have the flexibility of not being tied to a contract, and the lower ongoing monthly costs, but certainly not the bargain route it used to be.

Having pretty much decided on an S7 Edge in gold, I went to carphone warehouse this morning to check it out. I have now decided I want the standard S7 in black!

The Edge does look a lot posher but having played with it a bit I think the curved edges would annoy me. For example if you're looking at a photo I don't like the way it wraps down the sides. It feels like you're not seeing the whole picture. As for the gold colour, when I saw it I thought OMG I am not having that! It looks so tarty imo (apologies to those who have ordered it!) and I really didn't like the mirrored finish at all. I would be forever wiping fingerprints off it.

I was very impressed with the camera, particularly the autofocus speed. That is one thing that drives me mad about my current S5.

I'm slightly disappointed as the bigger battery in the Edge did appeal, and the black standard S7 doesn't really have much of a wow factor but I'm sure it will be a very satisfying device to use.

I've used Sandisk cards in the HTC Desire, Galaxy S2 + 3 over the last 5 years. Never had any issues.
