**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Thread ****

I'm paying 70 quid a month with 9 quid 99 up front, unlimited texts and mins, 30gb data, unlimited music streaming, free unlimited everything in Europe, the free speaker if i sell that should offset the costs, 60 quid after employeer discount. I'm with o2, s8+
Is that deal really worth an extra ~£35 a month over the cost of the phone? That seems extortionate to me.

Anyone found a good screen protector yet or are they not worth bothering with anymore? I have a S7 edge that's been in a genuine Samsung flip case and no screen protector for over 3 months now and the screen is still spotless despite it having heavy use.

Now I'm no conspiracy nut or anything, but my S7 has started lagging and experiencing pretty severe battery drain over the last week or so. Not doing me any favours when I'm trying to convince myself I have no need to upgrade...

Just got a good deal for my wife on the S8, she still has 7 months left on her current contract with Three, so i phoned to see how much it would cost to pay off, anyway, they have waived an early upgrade fee of £188, free phone, £47 month with unlimited calls and texts and 2gb data which she won't use, includes feel at home too, and then three months line rental reimbursed after 4 months. Pretty pleased with that!

Just got home with 85% battery left after leaving house at 7.30am this morning.

Pretty impressive considering I haven't stopped anything from syncing and everything is switched on.

How?! On way home now and I'm at 40% with just over 2 hours screen time

Dunno, screen was on for 25 minutes and 25 minutes of calls. Literally haven't turned off anything other than Bluetooth.

My S7 edge would be at around 70% 11 hours after coming off the charger with similar usage.

Don't know if it's just me. About twice now, my phone didn't wake up when pressing on soft home button and I had to press the power button to wake it up. Has this happened to anyone?

Probably done to death but there are too many pages to sift through. Can someone recommend a thin bumper case (that doesn't make it look ugly) for the S8 to get a better grip as it's a bit slippery? I normally use my phone without cases but I'm fearful of dropping it or someone knocking it out of my hand especially when commuting!

With o2 I simply went online to o2 chat, gave them all the details and the number was ported from an expiring o2 contract to a new o2 contract within 24 hrs. Thought this would be the standard process by now.

The samsung clear case i got with the wireless charger bundle is thin and doesn't make the phone look ugly...

Can't find a proper link but it was in vodafone store in Newcastle yesterday...

I took my s8+ off charge at 6:30am this morning. Currently at 47% having had 1h 34m Screen on time. Only used for around 20 mins of music using tidal and 20 minutes of phone calls, little bit of browsing, FB, twitter etc and maybe 20 text messages.

Been on battery since about 7am, currently at 50% with 2hrs 15mins SOT.Browsing, emails and a few youtube videos this evening.

Massive improvement from my s6 where I'd constantly have to turn power saving on and screen brightness to minimum just to make it to 5pm and about 20% battery left with a quick charge on the 12v in the van on the way home.
