**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Thread ****

its not great at all no. Saying that, im sure if i ask for the PUC code next month that deal will drastically improve! On TBH, im ready to leave voda for EE or something.

Just off the phone with Vodafone. Bit the bullet and ordered the S8 in grey. £30 up front and £53 a month for 30gb data free everything else and Spotify for length of contract. Upgrading early and no early upgrade charges.

S8+ was £50 up front and £58 a month for the same deal but decided to go with the S8 as upgrading from the G4.

I had upgraded on the phone with Three yesterday, I called to cancel today..

Yesterday, they charged me an early upgrade fee of £28, had the handset at £99 and had 24 x £45/month 12gb + unlimited mins) (£1207 over 24 months)

Today they removed the early upgrade fee of £28 reduced the handset to £79 upfront and gave me 3 months line rental discount (£150 in value) (4gb + unlimited mins 24 x £50) (£1129 over 24 months)

Not a huge discount, but I never use that much data but probably ok overall, I have a phone I'll be able to get £300 for which I guess brings it to £829 over the duration.

I would wait for the Pixel 2, but then there would be something else round the corner too :) i usually just get a upgrade when its due if there is significant difference

That's the thing, there's always going to be something new around the corner, when the pixel 2 is announced in oct / nov, the Galaxy S9 will be around the corner.

anyone ever had luck with getting better deals from Three network if you threaten to leave?

Looking for an S8+ deal with 10-gb+ data.

£99 down and £50 per month at Three for 12gb. total is £1299 over 24 months.

Can buy phone outright and get 12gb sim only for £1139 total but have to then shell out £800 in one go.

I don't really want to leave them, been with them 4 years and had no real issues, a couple of minor issues that haven't really effected me but i have been credited well.

I also like the use abroad perk.

I was debating waiting for the people who upgrade their phones just to sell on and getting one for about £400/ £500, however, would there be a risk that they could report it missing and get it blocked? And then, even if i did get a blocked one, it would only be blocked in UK wouldn't it? With me moving to NZ at the end of the year, it would be unlocked over there wouldn't it?

Also, i thought the S8 (+) was available in blue at launch too, but everywhere only seems to be offering black or grey?

S9 I hope improves on this mediocre s8. Maybe with finger print on screen unlock or iris scan and better camera.

50 a month, is just insane for a phone imo

Still concerned about battery degradation on this S7E

bit the bullet and got a 0% credit card for 30 months, going to buy an S8+ outright and get a sim only plan. Got approved instantly so just need to wait for the card to come through to get one pre ordered!

three have £15 - 12gb data/600 minutes/unl text for 12 months. or 30gb data for £20.

Any other sim deals worth looking at?

Will prob go with 30gb if i cant find any other good sim deals.

Also looks like quidco do cashback at samsung ant three so about £70 back.

You still have to pay them a sum after 12 months to swap the phone. It's far from cheap.

If you add their higher data contract onto that too you've still got another £20 a month on top of that.
I think you'll find the swap option is what they pay you for the phone within the swap window as outside of it that figure is reduced...

My cashback tracked :)

£57.42 from the Samsung EPP site. Brings the cost down to £631.58 plus I get 12 months of insurance through them for free, so not the worst deal all things considered.

Deffo a no from me, purely for the fingerprint scanner position. I'll wait until the S9 gets an announcement. Though I see no reason to upgrade from my S7 at all.

Though would've been cool if they somehow managed to put the volume and power on the rear so you see nothing from the front at the sides.

Ordered mine today. Come from the Note 4 its a pretty big improvement. I can understand people with an S7 not finding the improvments that big but for me they definatly are. Would have preferred more than 4GB of ram but ah well. Phone looks stunning that's for sure and I'm sure it will fly with UFS 2.1 and the new processor.

The price of this thing is crazy. EE won't offer anything less than £45. What is this madness?!?!?!

This is most certainly the future of processing power surely. I feel like windows have missed a huge opportunity with this.

They didn't really, the actually implemented their own version well it's just a shame the Windows Phone platform was pretty much dead at that point.
