**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Thread ****

The Red Screen tint is really bad,seen a couple of pics online with 2 S8 side by side,it cant be fixed with the colour adjuster even though samsung stated that it can ,had there phone replaced/if samsung mess this launch up then they will be in serious trouble after the note7 carryon
 
Well, 3-4 days to go and we'll find out. Any s8 faults will be massive clickbaits now so I wouldnt really trust anything online unless coming from a reputable tech review site.

They will make a big thing out of anything now, just wait until someone says they bend in your pocket now as well :).
 
Ordered mine from Samsung on the 30th March. It's now shipped but I didn't receive an email from them saying that. I just noticed that they took the money via a PayPal notification and then checked the status via the Preorder acknowledgement email.

Did anyone who ordered direct from Samsung get an email today notifying them that it's shipped?
 
Hadn't really looked at dimensions until now but was surprised by how small the case was that turned up. Comparing with my Z3, it's near enough the same size, just a few mm difference in it.

Z3 - 146 x 72 x 7.3 mm
S8 - 149 x 68 x 8.0 mm

Looking forward to getting back to an AMOLED screen.

Noticed criticism in some reviews that the Iris unlocking doesn't work very well and that the fingerprint scanner is a pain etc. etc. but no mention of whether you could be a luddite and just stick with a PIN - kinda sounded like you had to select Face / Finger / Iris as your unlock choice, with PIN only available as a backup for failure cases? Surely not?
 
Can do both pin and pattern from what some of the early reviews side, the iris scan seems to be mixed, some say its super fast some say its not. Again, will have to try ourselves I guess, cant even trust reviews anymore..

I tried the S8 in stores. The fingerprint sensor is easy enough to reach. There's a lot of moaning about it, and yes, it would've been better placed a little lower and centrally. BUT on the S8 it's very easy to reach and my hands aren't big.

On the S8+, it's a whole different ball game. Definitely a difficulty to reach.

Nope had nothing, just checked early this afternoon and it had shipped. Probably get it Thursday now unless it's here tomorrow , here's hoping lol
 
Can anyone recommend a really fast 128 GB SD card for this? I presume it doesn't support the UHS-II memory cards to get the max speed those ones are.
 
Reviews are praising the phone but cursing the location of the fingerprint sensor. Considering how many use the fingerprint sensor many times every day, it could be a deal-breaker for many people.

I've never used it on my S7 :)

The deal breaker for me is no hardware home button :(

I got a text message from UKMail advising my Samsung order would be delivered today. I've just checked the status again and UKMail are saying my delivery has been delayed...

Samsung website says it's been shipped.

It has haptic feedback for the virtual home button, designed to make it feel like you're pressing a physical button. I never found it to be a problem when I had a play.

That's the biggest tease. Maybe it's delayed because it wasn't meant to be delivered today?

Nothing from my end yet mate since they haven't taken the payment, typical, they have done for my two cases I had ordered separately however.

I would imagine the UKMail status is probably delayed as it will arrive on Thursday and not today.

Hope that's the case. Just checked and they haven't taken payment yet, so that makes sense.

It's like unlocking your car with a key instead of remote unlock. We're going backwards.
