Well I'm interested in trying the Retina Scanner because from the reviews so far, to all intents and purposes, it works really well and you don't need to hold your phone in an unnatural position either.

MKBHD mentioned this in his review in particular where it had unlocked when he didn't expect it would.

I agree - they've made quite a blunder sticking it where they have. I've got the phone on order and this is the single worry I have about it. I'm hopeful I can work round it, but maybe I'm just kidding myself.

When I was considering one and went to see it irl, although they put the big security thing on it I found it a pain to reach and I have fairly big hands. My Pixel on the other hand I love the positioning of it.

I hope you get on with it as it's a beautiful bit of kit.
 
Regarding the fingerprint sensor, the only saving grace for me is that on the S8 I found it relatively easy to get to as I'm left handed it's actually easier for me to reach than if I were holding it with my right hand as it means I don't have to go over the camera lens. Also with the S8 I could reach it without over stretching my finger, whereas with the S8+ I couldn't.
 
Has anyone who's ordered from the Smartphonecompany had their phone dispatched? I emailed them and was told they were getting enough stock to cover preorders, but my order status still says its waiting handset release.
 
I got an email from UKMail to say that it would be delivered today, no dice on the delivery slot email this morning, so called UK mail, and they have now said it will be delivered tomorrow! what a joke WFH just for this.. Rubbish UK mail I wonder if Samsung use CW for their distribution in the UK

This happens often with pre orders though, it's definitely not been made clear though. You would have thought Samsung would have done a better job of managing that part from the customer experience side of things.

Glad I decided to just WFH tomorrow now :p Haven't received any UKMail correspondence right enough though.

This! Exactly this!

Was really annoyed when I first saw all the rumoured release pics thinking it would be terrible for me being left handed...but as said it actually seems better for left-handed people as there's less distance to stretch to get to it!

I tested one unchained one in store and it seemed fine, as does testing the position with my empty case

Just can't wait to receive it now! :D about 3 months of this temporary iPhone 5S has been more than enough for me lol

Most right handed people hold their phone in their left hand too so yes at least it's on the right side!
Still should have been lower down though

same ere - nada since the order status changed to "Shipped".
It says on the order email to await another email confirming tracking details - so I'm assuming they will get sent out today for delivery tomorrow.

Those with time slots etc - Did you get an email from samsung or UKmail with the tracking info?
 
Just spoken to UK mail, A large amount of S8's where shipped yesterday but Samsung have asked for them not to be delivered till the 20th/21st. Depending on your location you will get the phone tomorrow or the day after
 
I'm waiting on mine coming from EE tomorrow. The delivery has just appeared on the DPD app so all looking good. Only concern is that DPD don't normally do a next day service to N.Ireland so could end up being a Friday delivery. Fingers still crossed for tomorrow.
 
My UKMail tracking details are now available on my Samsung Order page, not active yet so I assume that will happen later on tonight.

Still no payment taken yet either...
