**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S9/S9 Plus Thread ****

I ordered the phone from very with 20% off so it came in under £700. Just need to sell my note 8. Hopefully I'll get £500 or so.

I had a look in carphone warehouse at the weekend to have a look at an S9 Plus. I'm sure they had an offer on a free wireless charger with either of the S9 phones. I could be wrong so don't quote me on it as didn't take a lot of notice of the offer  May not have been a Samsung wireless charger either.

I have an S8 which I've had for nearly a year. I kind of regretted not getting the bigger S8 Plus a bit. Crossed my mind to trade my S8 for an S9 Plus. Couldn't fault the S9Plus as much as I could try it tethered to the display. Put the s8 and S9 Plus together and the Plus isn't all that much bigger physically than my S8 but display is bigger - of course! The thing that stopped me is the asking price .. £869 is just a fair lump of money. I always go sim only and buy my phone. So, liked the phone didn't like the cost. Price may drop in the coming months but I'm not holding my breath :(

They do and it is a samsung wireless charger.

Yeah it's a brilliant phone. I'm just a sicker for new shiny products :D

Ah, fair enough :D

My Mrs is a little worried. I've had this S8 about a year. This is 12 months without breaking it or seeing something better. There is plainly something wrong with me, she thinks. I'm resisting the urge but the force is strong, or at least it was in CPW but got myself out the door into car park where the force wasn't so strong.

Couple of things really, well 3. I can't fault the S8, the S9, though very good, doesn't feel enough of an upgrade and finally I'm interested to see what the Huawei phone will be like - next week?

Nope not received mine yet either. Had an email the other day saying they hadn't received it, so clicked for them to send a replacement pack, but still not received anything.

Got my return pack today. Letter had half of my address missing, no road name or area of my town and then the postcode. Seems someone within Royal Mail has handwritten my road name on the envelope to get it to me eventually.

so almost 2 weeks in I'm actually liking my s9+, battery life is far better than the s8 I had before, even with quite a bit of use ive not seen under 30% before heading to bed, camera is fantastic, the additional storage is a bonus as is the ram, seems to keep apps open in the background for much longer (not sure if thats partially down to Oreo or not as my S8 was on nougat before I sold it) and I'm now used to the finger print scanner position which is much better, i'm happy with the s8 > s9+ upgrade, maybe had I had the S8+ it wouldn't have been such a jump as much as I used to hate touchwiz or whatever they now call it i've grown to be used to it.

Took the plunge and picked up an S9 plus. Coming from the Xiaomi Mi Max, I like my big phones. This one is better though!

Screen protectors - any recommendations? I've trawled the forest - presuming I should go for a tempered glass protector, which often seem to be secured via adhesive on the sides. Is that the only way to do it with the curved screen? Would appreciate any dos/donts with screen protectors/cases. Thanks

I've done quite a bit reading on the tempered glass and majority of them don't seem to work or if they do then not for long as it starts to come off the sides. Have read that the screens for the phones aren't identical in shape due to the curve hence why the tempered glass doesn't stay on perfectly. The only one which seems to do well is the whitestone dome protector.
I've gone for the Spigen Neo Flex which is just a flexible film.

Case wise i've got a flip cover which I got for a few quid on ebay as a temp one, i'm probably going to go for the Samsung Hyperknit case. EE have it for £22 whereas everywhere else seems to have it for £29.

Sent my phone back today. Took photos and a video of it all working and unmarked in case of any disputes on arrival. If over £100 trade in you have to pay the £7.25 at the Post Office for Special Delivery. Any ideas how long it takes to be processed or do you get an email saying all received and OK or ???

Just had an email to say my old device has been securely wiped (I did that before sending it in) and that the trade in was complete

Mine was delivered before 0830 this morning. Like you I did a factory reset before returning as it tells you to do that in the paperwork. I also got an update when I switched it back on with a GiffGaff sim inserted to do last check before posting, did the update and also did another reset just to be sure and fully charged it.

Well, I wish I hadn't purchased the S9+ through Carphone Warehouse - they've managed to lose the S7 Edge I've traded in despite having a tracking number that shows it as delivered & now nobody seems to know what's happening with the free 128gb SD card that was supposedly going to be sent separately for SIM only purchases.
