The Official Samsung SM226BW Thread!

Yes mate. According to the business manager who owes me a monitor ;) (hence the price btw which I'd imagine will be more for most)

Just ordered my 226bw £259.01 should be here 13th :D dissaponted with ocuk. :(

Nice! I wasn't sure if he had said the 14th just to make me feel better for being without a monitor for 4 months! lol but I think the free upgrade from a 19" tft and the £200 quid cheque should cover that :D

The things you can achieve with an 8 page letter to the managing director lol ;)

One thing I was wondering.... I'm coming from playing at a native res of 1280 x 1024 and everything runs fine on full everything on my rig, will I need to lower things for this monitor? or even upgrade?

Hi there

Completely missed this, were having our busiest period ever so have been snowed under.

Its now on our website for pre-order and will firm up ETA and pricing over the next few days after speaking with Samsung.

Looks like a nice one, are they any better than the Dell 2007's? They were on my buy list but do like this new Samsung :D
What about HDCP, the sammy does not have this......

One of the stickers on the front says HDCP.

Nice looking screen. Pitty manufacturers are only quoting 'dynamic' contrast ratio these days, since it's pretty misleading and gives you no real idea of how the screen performs. The black depth shown on the Doom 3 shots is just typical poor LCD black depth so take the 3000:1 with a hefty pinch of salt.

Viewing angles wise, hard to judge from those shots since they only took shots from very narrow and very wide. Still don't look to be as good as the viewing angles of the other panel types.

Good work Gibbo - Price seems fair - When I go to order one though it says 'out of stock' - Is this because it is a pre-order?
