The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

There's a free face tracker for FSX called face track noir. Try it and see if you like that style of flying first.

I've recently purchased ez dok camera which creates fluid movements around the virtual cockpit adding great imersion.

Funny you should say that. I've just discovered Freetrack and I've just finished buying a PS3 Eye and bits to build a track clip. Great minds...

its working with fsx and it only takes a webcam

any tips for getting noir working well? I found it made very choppy/jerky movements when the fps went below 30 fps (and i mean fsx fps, not the tracking fps). Beautiful to use on the default 172 in the middle of nowhere, but load up the NGX at Heathrow with traffic and VFR london in the background renders it completely unusable for me.

The software itself seems to work without too much of a hitch - ive been trialling it in arma recently and have had a much better experience there, but fsx just seems to bog it down too much

Been out of the FSX loop for a few years now.. What sort of money is required to invest in a system powerful enough to get the most out of it today?

i5 or i7 quad core overclocked to at least 4.0ghz (higher the better)

at least 6gb system ram

mid-range nvidia gfx card (gtx 560 upwards)

as much hdd space as you think you will need for potential addons

That is RIDICULOUS

Surely a freeware utility of that quality spells the end of pretty much every payware VFR package in existence?

just about yeah:cool:

i have been access to photoreal scenery of pretty nice quality for some time, we have the whole of Greece for example for free and it looks just awesome. No need for payware.

After a lot of frustration with trying to activate it, I have finally been able to complete my first flight in the Majestic Q400 today.

An excellent plane, right up there in quality with the PMDG NGX. It has great sounds, flight dynamics, visuals and low FPS compared to other addons.

I used to fly on this plane quite regulary a few years ago, from Stansted to Paderborn-Lippstadt so I tried to recreate the flight.

I took the Vatsim Cessna 172 on an FSEconomy flight yesterday. It was all going so well, then I got a little board and starting messing about with some views. Low and behold FSX crashed on me.. Luckily FSUIPC has saved my flight 5 mins before the crash.

I reloaded from that point and landed successfully at Popham. Unfortunately no matter what I did, FSE wouldn't register the end of my flight, so I had to cancel all the good work that I'd done.

I did get some pics off that back of that though!
