Cheeky short flight from Edinburgh to Newcastle in the RealAir Legacy before work this morning

Really enjoying the RealAir Legacy and Turbine Duke recently...haven't touched the NGX for a couple of weeks because they're so good :D

I love your 2nd picture Mr Blue with the steam drifting out of the cooling towers :) The rest others have posted make my efforts all look so mundane. Thanks for sharing guys.

Nice screens all but that reminds me,

From my experience with screen shots, if you are taking shots involving photoreal ground scenery, make sure you match the season & time of day of your flying with what the scenery shows you. In other words, most scenery is imagery taken during summer time and check the shadow line on the buildings/structure, most of the time it will be an afternoon sun setting. You will find you get much more realistic shots if you match the sun position with what the scenery is showing, otherwise it will look a bit unnatural and odd.

Great. We'll aim for Thursday then.

I took a Cessna Caravan from Yorkshire to Ireland yesterday in FS Economy.

I can make it a two-part flight if anyone else is interested in joining. First part VFR, second IFR.

If you have Mumble we can speak to eachother. If you're on Vatsim, we can all fly online.

Scenery has gone 2-3 ways.

Orbx or VFR photographic scenery. And the 'tileproxy' way which has been mentioned earlier.

Orbx is detailed generated scenery where the VFR stuff is photographic.

Horses for courses.

I've gone VFR with UK2000 airports for the places I fly to/from.

BUT at the moment, it seems that a UK2000 airport would look out of place in Orbx scenery. And Orbx scenery is slowly released detailed airports for its way of doing things.

Just finished a flight from Gatwick to Inverness and it went flawlessly. Was suprised by the thunder storm (curtesy of Rex) while decending through the clouds. I've installed VFR photgraphic scenery 3 box set....England and Wales at 4 discs per box. That was a mission on it's own...lol.

Must admit the GTX 580 struggled a little with the 4096 cloud textures...even with an overclock. I've got the new I5 3570K at 4.0Gtz and seems to be ok at the moment. I'll look into the magic 4.5 at later date. All in all it's going well and i'm happy to be back in the air again.

Oh by the way blue...I got the UK2000 Gatwick airport and i'm very impressed.

That's great news and well done.

I never run full-res clouds and make some compromises through Rex.

For those interested in flying tomorrow (Thurs 25th):

Part 1 7.30pm ish
VFR Flight from Goodwood EGHR to Southampton EGHI

Part2
Then an IFR from Southampton up to Liverpool:

EGHI DCT NORRY Q41 WCO DCT DTY Y250 AKUPA T420 TNT KEGUN2B EGGP
FL Min:105 Max:245

I hope to be on Mumble from 7.15pm tomorrow.
