Reverse thrust. Does anyone use it?

Just did a few circuits round EGKK and landing with full flaps, brakes then another go around and landed with full flaps, brakes and reverse thrust. I stopped a whole runway exit sooner and it makes a cool reverse thrust type sound too....lol

Some pics...

Reverse thrust is awesome.. Even just for the sound.

I understand a plane has to be able to land safely and stop on a runway without reverse thrust but using reverse thrust will shorten the stopping distance and save wear and tear on brakes.

There's the 'clamping' on the old gen 737.

The 'petal' of the Airbus' except the A380.

In the ATR, reverse thrust is available in flight and available to do the pushback thing

Hello fellow flyers!
I´m new on this forum and I would be interested about some optimal Radeonpro settings for Flight Simulator 2004. My specs are: Acer X3475, 12Gb of RAM, A10-5700 and AMD Radeon 7660D as a videocard. Especially the clouds are causing me trouble. I have been told that clouds are quite hard for AMD cards. So anyone who is happy with his/her AMD settings, please let me know your secret...

Hello Virtpilot. Welcome to the forums.

This is the FSX aka 'MS Flight Simulator 10' thread. The screenshots and advice here is aimed at that.

Have you thought about upgrading from FS2004? :)

Hello Bluetonic, thanks for your answer.
Actually I do not have any plans to do so, I have made my FS2004 so good during these years with different addons that I don´t want to lose it. Last November I bought this new computer and I was kind of surprised about not so good performance than I expected from my new rig. Ever since I have tried to find some optimal settings for my video card. Using Radeonpro has made much but still I´m not satisfied. Sometimes I wish that I would bought a Nvidia based rig but this is what I got and that´s it.

Quick question about Plan-G. I had a look at it last night and it looks great, however I use an eyefinity setup for FSX so I don't have a spare screen to run it on.

Am I right in thinking there is some software which will all me to run it on my laptop and connect it to FSX on my PC?

Another option was air display, but I think the networking option would be better.

Any thoughts?

Plan-G works across a network using either SimConnect or FSUIPC (although I suspect the later needs a paid for WideFS). I use SimConnect with my laptop but rather than mess around trying to map drives between the 2 machines, so Plan-G can build its database, I have also have it installed on the flight sim PC as well. After building the databases there I copy the contents of the data folder to the laptop and Bob's me Uncle the laptop has updated data.

Anyone able to suggest any decent scenery / airport scenery for the UK for freeware?

http://www.freewarescenery.com/fsx/uk.html

check this out. Not tried any of the airports, but if you have any photoreal packages then try the uk ANO, mills and refineries (at the bottom of the page). Also google fsx power project. These packages combined add a load of extra 3d objects such as aerials, masts, pylons, cooling towers etc in their real life locations - it just brings the flat photoscenery to life a little bit.

One thing i would like to see but have never found for fsx is 3d models for motorway/A road lights. Probably too pedantic and system taxing for most but ive never been a fan of the UTX floating orbs and wanted something that looks a little more realistic.

the performance hit will be massive with such lighting

Where's the pics?! :D

V, Col and I took the default 172 from Popham to I.O.W via Southampton yesterday on VATSIM. It was a very enjoyable flight and a very pleasant evening.
