The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

Wow. Just wow. Really fun to fly, awesome flight model, excellent detail everywhere, looks good, sound is great (pilot coughs a bit at high G's and announces weapons hot etc when activating weapons sys)... working cannon :D:D:D What surprised me was how easy it was on fps even at LAX

Thanks shadow, didn't know about the four line thing, sorted it now. My new PC hasn't arrived yet, its finished but they are still system testing it atm. Should hopefully have it sometime next week, they also still waiting to get my Revodrive x2 480Gb in stock as it hasn't arrived yet but should later this week. Will indeed take some pictures of the beast once I have it though, plus benchmarks once I have it up and running. FSX full install and tweak will take a while though but hopefully get it all up and running @Xmas.

Cheers.

That is a great spec. You must post your GTX 580 Nvidia FSX profile settings. Do you have a current profile you could post?

That IRIS A10 looks quite tasty, how accurate/advanced are the systems? Might get it in readiness for when the RMA'd bundle returns.

(although if their RMA times are as accurate as build/delivery times, I should expect to see it within the next 30 working days)

As for DCS A10, her indoors has been alerted to it's existance! :D Sorry I meant Santa.

Systems are very accurate, so is the flight model I've found (quite easy to stall it if you aren't gentle). Only thing that makes me sad is the night vision targetting isn't operational, it's just for show really. Night lighting looks sweet though. Will get some shots up later.

Nice one, cheers

to be fair if the night vision was functional in FSX chances are it would bring even Soya's system to its knees begging for mercy! (OK Maybe not) :D

Always thought it strange that such a small plane with those two hefty engines stalls so easily. Then I remembered the GAU-8 it is carrying round with it.

Has anyone here been following the Jesus tweaks that have been on the go recently? For those with ATI cards, his Shader 3 Mod is well worth checking out, makes the cards handle water and clouds a bit better. Worked a treat on my Phenom II 940 + 4890 setup. Not noticed much of a change on the GTX460 though. His fsx.cfg file is well worth checking out aswell. Haven't tried this one yet, but it appears a few people have had good results. If you use it though make sure you backup your current .cfg file. http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html.

Yeah I use the shader 3.0 tweak, but I can't get the external fps limiter working for some reason so can't really take advantage of the other tweaks (which drives me mental).

I struggled with the limiter aswell, just kept opening up asthough it was a regular .zip file.

Now I can't remember the exact names of the files, but you need to have Java installed, then run the file that contains GUI in it's name. Sometimes though it still behaves as a .zip file even with Java installed. If it does that, right click a select to run with Java from the menu.

When you run the cabfile it should pop up with an interface which you need to direct to the fsx.exe file and to set your FPS limit.

Once you have done that it should create a new file in the folder called something along the line of fsx.limited.exe use that to launch FSX.

Thing to remember is to keep everything in the same folder and do not move it once you have run the GUI file.

Hope that helps getting it working (took me ages to figure it out lol)

It will be a while before I am up and running, still waiting for the PC delivery. Alas I got no profile due to my raid array crashing a few weeks ago, I got to reinstall from scratch. But also, sharing FSX.CFG between PCs is usually not a good idea due to the many different variables involved, each PC being different for one. Hence why I created this thread, to share tweaks and useful tweak links.

EVERYTHING ON THE IRIS STOREFRONT - $5 AUD

http://www.irisfss.com/storefront/index.php

Bagged the vulcan, f16 and A10 for less than £10 WOOP

That is crazy value, I bagged nearly the entire shop, @£50 for 11 aircraft and 1 sound set! I have the good feeling about having more aircraft to play with, I got a great deal plus I supported IRIS by buying their products. Now all I need is a PC with FSX installed :p

hmmm appears their silly payment system is determined not to let me play! Keep being told it has been declined by the bank... Phone the bank and they tell me differently!

Oh well, probably means I can afford 1/2 pizza more lol
