I've been having a play around with the Orbx Iceland Demo and am really impressed by it. I'm looking forward to Vector and OpenLC Europe coming out.

Whats the overall verdict on the orbx vector/mesh demo now? I noticed Vuvuzela wasn't too impressed when it first came out but now Dappo seems to really like it.

I'm only asking cause I had a rather lousy birthday so I ended up treating myself to a pair of saitek throttle sets to try and make up for it (time for some twin piston engine faliure/shutdown drills!). I've neglected FSX a bit lately and was hoping the new orbx stuff (and throttles!) might wet my appetite again...

If anyone's interested, I spotted them for £39 new at another retailer that I'm not sure if I can mention here *cough*easilyfoundongoogle*cough*. Cheaper than what 2nd hand sets go for on ebay!

I didn't really give it a good go and still haven't given it a good go yet(too much battlefield 4 )

But when I did have a play, I just didn't see anything that looked that exciting . The roads , the shoreline, rivers etc just looked like any other Orbx addon.

This F50 is from Virtualcol. It's very cheap (about £8), however the addon isn't all that great. You can find it here: http://secure.simmarket.com/virtualcol-fokker-50-virtual-x.phtml

I went on Vatsim on Sunday evening. It was the Gatwick - Glasgow Shuttle run.

I thought I'd fly from Edinburgh to Bristol to take advantage of the ATC.

I was in the iFly 737-700 in TAP livery. I was a bit rusty on the setup, but got through it. I took off okay and was on frequency to Scottish control.

Then I heard a voice from downstairs.. 'Andrew, there's a mouse in the lounge'. One of our 2 cats had bought a mouse into the house and let it go.

I had to apologise to Vatsim and log off and then go on a mouse hunt.

Anyway.. I have a free weekend, so I hope to do a flight at somepoint, Saturday or Sunday if anyone's around to join?
