Good to see this thread being busy since last time I checked it. I caught up with the last few pages but I couldn't see anything directed at me personally or any questions that weren't kindly answered by other flight sim enthusiasts who contribute to this thread. If I did miss anything please just say so.

Do remember that if you skip pass the many screen shots in this thread, there is a wealth of useful information that has build up over time. Yes, its a fair bit to read but if you do not have the patience to read a few pages, you probably won't be interested or have the patience to fly aircrafts in FSX!

Meanwhile, I been busy with releasing another FSX video, this time of one of my favourite local sceneries, the excellently made Alderney by Earth Simulations.

Thanks Soya. Along with doing the lessons I fully intend to read the entire thread. Infact I did so when it was 8 or 9 pages long.

22 pages isn't that bad.

Still no sign of the NGX - apparently they said they would give 24hours notice of it's release and that didn't happen so something must have went pear shaped.

There are literally hundreds of facebook comments complaining about why it isn't here yet. The hunger for this addon is immense. PMDG made a big mistake in my book my promising against dates they couldn't meet. Better saying nothing until it is ready to go.
 
Well to be fair they did say 7 to 10 days and if there were any show stoppers then it would slip :D

You can imagine the frustration though lol. People will be spitting dummy's big time.

On a side note I got an email from Captain Sim asking if I was interested in Beta testing the latest version of there 757 for FSX with particular attention to VNAV/LNAV modes. I said yes :D Here's hoping I get to test a new 757 :D
 
O very nice. Is the CSim stuff good? I don't think we ever had a really good 757 for FSX although Level D were rumoured to be making one.

PMDG announced a code freeze the other day so the thing should be ready. It will probably be released very late at night in the US time zone so it might be waiting for me tomorrow morning. Very frustrating!
 
Its not the same level as the PMDG stuff but for the Virtual airline it does all the VNAV stuff and the FMC and CDU allow full function. Redundant systems like PMDG do are not as fully modeled but 99.9% of the time when your flying online you don't want a simulated engine fire and divert as you would lose the flight time. So for the purpose for which they are intended they are pretty good. I will be getting the PMDG 737 NX but but no real rush :D
 
Looks like the PMDG 737 is indeed officially released at $69.99 which is @£45. However, their store server is apparently under Ddos attack from somewhere in China (many cyber attacks been coming from China over the past few years) but I'm sure they will have it sorted by tomorrow. Still pondering on getting it myself. I might wait for Captain Sim's 737, it will obviously not be as system's detailed but I am mostly interested in the exterior views and texture of an aircraft, I have no need for complex flight systems which I will never learn. Still, from the external model from PMDG looks sweet nonetheless.

Refresh rate is set at monitor max, 60Hz, but during recording I record at 30fps max, no need for more really, file sizes gets too large at 60fps recordings unless you stick with very short videos.
 
PMDG store still offline! I went to bed after midnight after quite a few F5s and expected it would all be here by morning. Cannot believe they got hit by a DDoS attack. There really are some weird people out there. It's maybe similar to what happened avsim a few years back.

Gah! I managed to get up early and buy it but they've since taken their download server offline so unfortunately can't get it yet. Why on earth would anyone DDoS a flight simulation company? :confused:

Well there is a crowd in China who have released a 737NG a while ago and they are probably trying to spoil PMDGs party. The DDoS apparently came from China so I'm putting 2 and 2 together.
 
The PMDG 737NGX is mine! Just downloading now - they eventually got the ecommerce site back up and running. Can't wait to get this installed.

I'm in love. Seriously. Seriously. Really seriously! She is a beauty. Screens to follow soon. One of the best things is the sounds! Wow.
 
This thing is a must buy. She is so smooth, so easy on FPS, modelled so well, handles so well. It's a dream.

When flying at night you see all the amazing lighting. You can see the strobe flashes from the flightdeck and the light reflections are just stunning. I'm in love!

More to follow except I have to go out tonight. Just typical when you get a new toy!









I love this one - you can even set the runway conditions in the takeoff ref pages.
