The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

I use an ATi card and set AA using catalyst (option unticked in FSX)

I typically use 4x AA, Edge Detect filter and Super Sampling AA mode

PS: Soya, that Guernsey scenery looks fantastic. I used to go then on holiday as a kid and remember places like Castle Cornet! I may have to get it on next months pay day :D

Are you doing it in 'real time'?

Sacrilege! How could you hint that I was doing anything else ;)

I'm doing it it in real time on Vatsim sat at the pc (accelerated time gets you banned on VATSIM )and following a properly planned and filed online route of my choice :D I've decided to head east and not in a straight line, Its a tour of places of 'interest' :D

There's no point in flying around the world and missing the scenery!

Besides in this aircraft there's plenty to keep you busy.

Great shots,

Can I ask a couple of questions,

Do you have add-on scenenry for every airport you are visiting? Also are you using real world routes?

And finally do you have a breakdown of the route? I would love to do something similar but dont know where to go!

Ok, well I have scenery for some of the airports and I'm also using REX 2.0 which gives really nice sky's and clouds :D

As for the routes I'm going where I want but I'm getting the route between the airports from http://www.vroute.net/mos/Frontpage/Itemid,1/ or http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/ if I cant find a direct scheduled flight. So its a real route properly planned with the right amount of fuel etc.

As for the route I started at Edinburgh as its the nearest to me and I'm heading generally east........

Enroute to OMDB - Dubai

Nice shots Eames :D Hope you enjoy!

Ringo747, unfortunately I'm not working at the moment as I'm studying for an MCITP:EA certification. I gave the Driving instruction up and I'm retraining. So, I have FSX on one monitor and the study on the other :D Best of all worlds :D

Nice. What way do you go about landing normally? Do you fly on AP to minimums callout and then disconnect or do you do an autoland?

I had it set up for autoland the other night and watched the AP do it's thing but then I noticed that we were way off the G/S - ended up it had flicked to single channel only so it wouldn't do the full autoland so it just sort of hung me out to dry while descending on no particular path, way above the glideslope path. I will know for next time! I know you needed double channel AP for autoland but not sure why it flicked to single.

Depends on my mood tbh, the Auto land is so nice I like to watch it :D but If I'm landing by hand then I disconnect the autopilot at around 500 feet and go from there, I'm getting better, we all walk away .......

You need the elevation and length of the runway programmed in, both nav radios tuned to the ILS freq and both the heading selectors aligned to the runway heading. LOC, App then both Autopilots engaged in that order works :D

I dont use the HUD yet so will skip that. Heading selectors to runway heading is the only thing I missed. Not sure if that would cause problems or not though. I need lots of practice - this is much less forgiving than the previous PMDG 737.
