** The Official Space Flight Thread - The Space Station and Beyond **

So they did that with a single raptor, yet the final ship will have 6, and the super heavy will have 31?
That's a lot of push...

Hopefully we’ll see the 20k hop in the next couple of weeks. SN8 possibly a sub orbital flight. As much as Musk can come out with some stupid comments his impact on space industry has been huge.

Amazing stuff. I wonder if they will ever be able to recover the 2nd stage boosters.

That'll probably require a massive amount of engineering changes to the second stage and a drop in payload capacity. Starship is being built from the ground up to be fully reusable.

Yea I can imagine. I hope they make Starship work, not the prettiest ship, but who cares about that as long as it works.

Speaking of starship, it would appear a new raptor engine is being installed to SN6 with a possible static fire window between 23rd-25th Aug. I wonder if they'll be pushing this up to their new record chamber pressure?

Wow, they are on version 6 already? That really is fast.

Yeah lets see if they will say all things nominal or if they find an anomaly causing it to go boom :p

They're working on multiple versions at the same time and adding all the improvements that they're learning along the way. SN6 is on the test stand, and SN7-9 are under various stages of construction.
