*****THE OFFICIAL "SPEC ME" THREAD*****

Thanks buddy but no memory?

slaps head :D

ok drop the mobo to the gigabyte GA-Ep45-DS3, and the case the the akasa infiniti (right now its the infiniti zor, get rid of the zor, still got tool less and removable mobo tray btu looses the window AND the blue led fans) and add in the OCZ £41 4GB (2x2GB) PC6400 RAM

id recomend the ASUS P5Q pro, but as its out of stock the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3

also for OCing a quad, id go for this:

Looks like the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3 is a go.

Just one last peice of advice, I have seen the:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...3 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail used as the card in many specs but it only seems to have a one year warrenty compared to the Asus in my spec which has three years, would both these cards have the same performance or will the Powercolor out perform the Asus?

Thank you for all the help, should be ordering tonight :)

its pre overclocked and has a very quiet and cool cooler, which is better than the ASUS, BUT if you feel more comfortable with a 3 year waranty then go for the asus.

as a compromise of both, you could get the 2 year waranty gainward card which has a cool quiet cooler, but is not pre OCed.

Hello people, Nooby Nooberson here. New to the Forum (excellent btw) and computer building in general. Decided to give building my own pc a go after a new business partner told me how much more you could get for your money as opposed to buying off the shelf. Anyway, i'm ready to take the plunge and thought that after reading the forum for a good few weeks that this was the place to look for stella advice. Looking for this machine to last me at least two years before i think about upgrading anything, so if you could take this into account that would be great.

I have already bought a case, HDD, and a PSU (listed below) and think i may have made a boo boo with the drive. The rig would be used primarily for gaming and browsing, but would also be used for watching films and downloading and storing music and my photo album (mainly my kids, i'm no David Bailey:D)

Thanks in advance for any replies, they are very much appreciated :)

Vicious

i just need to know your current rad, as it may not be able to handle a heavily clocked qcore and one or two 4870s.

Goberpiles316

perfect, and no you wont, the freezer 7 pro comes with the brilliant MX-2 pre applied.

Hi, was wondering if you think this setup will be ok BUDGET:£1300 max

This setup is much better:
4870X2.jpg

Firstly, that 750i board is terrible. The only decent NForce chipset is 790i which is DDR3 only, so that pretty much rules out SLi.

Crossfire is just as good (if not better) and is better value for money and the Q9550 is a faster/more overclockable CPU than the old Q6600.
