**The Official Star Wars Battlefront II Thread (PC)**

it is one shot with a rather long refresh time so it doesn't make force field bubbles completely useless. I noticed a lot less people using the force field bubble once that got added + there are better cards to use now too.

But it makes the counter unpredictable hence less people use the bubble = not good gameplay mechanics just as I'd expect from Dice. A proper developer would have taken the time to make a tactical system whereby the bubble using player could make an ingameplay decision based on the potential counter and the counter using player could utilise the ability strategically either offensively or for area denial or funnelling the other player(s) movements, etc.

Dice make nice looking graphics but anything else is shallow and **** and they really should just stick to what they do good and get someone else in to do the actual gameplay nitty gritty and bread and butter feature coding - most other developers manage to mostly make basic systems work without hideous glitches and hidden problems and without requiring going back time and time to patch over specific issues.

No doubt they could have gone about it better but at least they did something to somewhat counter it in the end, like I said, it isn't completely useless, it is just not as OP and not as viable as other cards available now.

I agree to an extent but BF 4 is fantastic for its overall balance and gameplay mechanics (I know you have issues with netcode etc., although I haven't after the big patch from CTE arrived, only netcode issue I ever have problems with is the dusting on vehicles, particularly aircraft).

The biggest problem with DICE is that they always seem to throw their previous work out the window and start from scratch again i.e. bf 1 in this case

- suppression, been through so many revisions of this throughout bf 3 and 4 yet they end up back in the same spot as when bf 3 suppression despite the hate for it
- tanks overall with regards to health, speed, manoeuvrability, damage, angles for best damage
- aircraft, jets went through big changes in the cte such as the best turning speed being removed, they didn't implement the change in the end due to the negative feedback yet in bf 1, aircraft skill has gone out the window
- arcadey mechanics, people complained about the heroes in battlefront + casual mechanics they added that into the more serious game i.e. bf 1 with the melee charge system, "elites" (not as bad but still stupid)

Amongst many other areas they have constantly changed/worked on but come new game, forgets about all the versions they tried as well as the feedback for it :/

I'm very passionately against gameplay mechanics that are cheap and lazy "solutions" or knee jerk nerf hammer something into the ground and switch it from the most attractive option to something no one wants to use as a way to push balance and diversity :(

That is pretty much the reason I've not touched BF1 beyond the beta - jumping into the beta and experiencing bugs or gameplay features that were present in BF3 and been fixed or changed due complaints and/or BF4 beta and had been "fixed" in BF4 just made me run for the hills LOL. Absolutely no excuse beta or not - things like the key binding issues should have been fixed in the underlying engine years ago and never re-emerge.

its funny how all cods and bf games first trailers are leaked at easter isnt it :p

as said before they were playing this trailer april the 6th.at Dice

Far better than that casual/sniper field 1 game anyway ;) :D :p

3rd person is casual..

Unfortunately I think it will be very close to BF 1 rather than BF 4 :(

It won't be like bf1, just as SWBF1 wasn't like bf4. It's a Disney franchise which will necessarily be an easy to pick up casual game which doesn't require squad play.

It could be fun anyway though.

Hoping the single player campaign will be some modern Star Wars gaming awesomeness...

EA and the developers learnt from titanfall 1 lack of single player and made one of the best SP games for titanfall 2 so here's hoping something similar happens with SWBF 2.

And so is holding down LMB for more accurate fire, random RNG, elites, charge melee etc. etc. Your point? :p :D

We'll have to wait and see, I won't be surprised if it was more like bf 1 in a lot of ways due to:

1. EA saying this game will have a lot more depth etc. and there isn't really much they can do to achieve that other than making it more like BF and its not like they can rely on graphics/star wars theme for this title again
2. IIRC, bf 1 sold more copies than even battlefront, I think it was expected to have sold over twice as many units

I'm going to have to stop you right there and advise you disconnect from the internet if you still believe anything EA say in advance about one of their upcoming games! :D

Unless they mean one of the maps is a giant pit so the gameplay is vertical instead of horizontal ;)

haha, I am certainly not going to hold my breath! :D

Realistically, it is the only thing they can do to be able to come back from the huge back lash that SWBF 1 got i.e. lack of content on release day and no depth and as a result, the player count tanking big time within only a couple of months.

They (including Disney) would be stupid to not add some of the core BF mechanics.

I think many may be more sceptically about jumping in on this one right away as the last left some disappointed, with that and how quick it ended up on EA access etc I'd be happy to just wait and see how it pans out. I still haven't bought the first one, just done the trial and felt I had my fill
