Nothing I have seen so far for the game suggests why this game should be this heavy on the GPU especially when compared to other open world games like Cyberpunk, The Witcher or Red Dead Redemption 2.

They were probably pressured by MS to get this out so hopefully there will be a performance patch in the near future..

It's getting more and more prevalent these days.

Just games that don't push any boundaries graphically or technically, yet suddenly set a new benchmark for hardware needed.

I cannot see any justification for why this should be anywhere close to demanding on modern day hardware.

Just posting here to say i was planning to pplay this from lunch time but now work has exploded all of a sudden grrrrrrr its Friday ffs!!!!

@TNA u started playing yet?

I was saying this yesterday, everything seems to happen on a Friday, but because I now don't work Fridays, it all happened yesterday instead.

A lot closer to 8 minutes :cry:

Will catch up over the weekend through.

Had a quick play this morning before work, getting a reasonable ~80-90fps on a 7900XT and Ryzen 9 5950X with 3440x1440 res High quality settings.

It seemed to like the "fast timings" setting on the graphics ram and gave 3-4 fps just by turning that on.

Strangely even though it clocks all the way to 2800 MHz core on the 7900XT with this game the power drain is only around 270W when my power limit setting would allow it to go to 365W.

Well i'm having loads of problems on pc, Win 10, RTX3070, 9700K @ 4.7Ghz, and nothing but ctd's, ive not even managed to leave the planet yet as the best ive managed is about 5 mins of play time before it ctd's, ive rolled back 3 gfx drivers to 536.67, dumped all the options to low, the game looks janky as hell now, & i still can't get it to behave. I'm well & truly baffled.

Has anyone done any decent exploring yet, or is everyone still stuck on character creator :D? Wondering what it's like going from planet to planet and if can you just go where you want, or is it just like you have to go to a designated planet and then it's loading screens.

Will certainly give this a go when it's out on regular gamepass next week. Looks quite up my street, although the map and inventory management criticisms are a worry.

Hoping that my 12700k and 4070ti will allow a constant 60 FPS+ at 1440p, though that looks marginal judging by the benchmarks released!

An enjoyable few hours, no idea where the time went. There are gripes, but there is lots of good stuff too and in some areas it’s Bethesdas best work. I like the skill tree, persuasion system, writing, voice overs, animations, quests, all excellent.

It’s still the same inefficient creation engine though. They’ve got a lot of work to do between now and ES6 releasing if they are to stay current with evolving gaming trends.

My Pong Lenis has been rifling through drawers and offices :D
