wow! I'll go give native a go to see what happens, and yeah it is right at the start. Figured that would be the best place for people to compare as we should all reach it easily.
I've been playing with FSR/DLSS etc and with render scale set to 75, I get a 10fps gain using either upscaler vs native res at ultra settings (VRS off too).

I'll look into it, I guess he's modding the file or something?

edit: would be awesome if whoever has paid for this puredark file would try the techpower up file and let us know if there is a difference.
these are two different things remember. One is DLSS 3 frame generation, the other is DLSS 2 upscaling with the latest DLSS dll which is 3.5.0 (techpowerup) - This will make no difference to those who have paid for the puredark DLSS 3.5 for frame generation as they are doing different things.

Looks like everyone (near enough) that pre-ordered is out amongst the stars!

Ok it's XBOX tech but as we now know, the PC version has no new tech :p
Interestingly, the XBox version has HDR support (although it doesn't fix the raised black levels) - hopefully the lack of HDR in the PC version is an oversight.

would have been a nice idea to have a space buggy, or quad like vehicle you could transport in your ship, and then use it to travel all over barren planets etc

I was literally about to ask if there were any vehicles in the game that you could pilot within a planet's atmosphere.

Disappointingly, it doesn't sound like it.

Seems like a massive oversight for a game based on planet exploration, not to at least have a rover or buggy or something.

Agreed, not only would it be cool and fitting with the tech, but having to run between each point of interest spread out by a minimim of 600m gets a bit annoying.

Small aircraft would be cool too. Especially if the pirates or hostile bases etc had them too, as well as anti air (thinking something similar to halo infinite).

Sorry, to answer more to the point, perhaps you shouldn't take what 'lots of people' say literally i.e., assuming 'Fallout in space' meant that all the features in Fallout would therefore be in this game. I'm sorry to say there are also no vaults, pipboys, or radio stations playing 50s music. Hope this helps.

I just wondered how it can be called Fallout in space when it doesn't even have gore and dismemberment, pretty key features of the franchise. You're clearly very confused thinking that is associated with the absence of pip boys and what not, so no need for apologies.

I must admit it does make what SC is trying to do more admirable and got me a lot more interested in their vision.

I'm going to crack on with my original plan of finishing a late start of DOS2, playing CP2077 when that's done and then see where we're at.

Ah yes combat, Bethesda are renowned for great combat in classics such as fallout and the elder scrolls. Therefore there was a high chance this game would completely buck the trend.

I’m actually really enjoying the gunplay. It really picks up as the hours go on where you need to use cover, have a mix of short, long, energy, ballistic weapons with the rarer items having neat perks added on top. Add in zero G where ballistic weapons push you around and it’s really fun.

Trying and failing miserably so far. I believe they’ll take several thousand pounds off you if you want to buy into it though.

Level 8 now. Still on Kreet :D

While exploring I hear a noise getting louder, sounds like ship, I look up and spot one landing. Start to make my way there. Once there I board it and go up to see the captain. Turns out she is a smuggler. She says I am late so I lie and play along to take the stuff that needs to be delivered. Once done I think ah **** it, dirty smuggler and get weapon out and kill her and her crew and loot the ship

And the above in the spoiler is why I ain't rushing the game and loving playing it.

On another note. @Nexus18 I installed the two mods to get HDR working and boy it makes a huge difference. My enjoyment has gone up even further.

No idea why some are not enjoying this game. It is Fallout in space :D

@jonneymendoza what level you on now? :)
