Off topic but @mrk do you use afterburner for your temps etc? If so could you pop me over a message with your setup as I would like to replicate it.
Do you mean fan curves for thermal control? If so then nope, all my fan curves are in the BIOS :D
But I do use Afterburner for RTSS and setting the 80% power limit on the GPU only.

Now that I have finished that DF video over a cup of chai, a small tub of Haagen-Dazs, a bowl of handeshes, I can say that it appears that other planets and settlements that we have yet to encounter are much better detailed than the early areas of the game. DF has 30 hours in the game and some of those areas looked very nice, especially Neon city on the water world. I'm gonna go out and just explore systems and planets tonight I think and see what's what.

It also has to be said that DF's video used a lot of photo mode b-roll, which appears to utilise higher textures in said mode whereas the same surfaces and objects are not as detailed outside of photo mode. Hopefully someone creates a mod to enable 21:9 photo mode to bypass the locked 16:9 aspect in it.

I am talking about your OSD on the screens further back showing your temps, vram use etc and 1% lows.

That gives hope for a higher texture quality mode as from what others have said about it some of the textures don't look good and it seems like Bethesda tried to keep with in an 8GB VRam limit.

First bug I've come across....

Was on a moon exploring, saw a ship coming in to land nearby. Ran over and quickly killed two guys on ramp and got on board just as it started taking off again. Killed a few guys, and the ship grav jumped. Worked my way through the ship, but just as I opened the door to the cockpit and the crew turned round and saw me, I insta died. Possible I got one-shot? Bit weird.

Is stealing NPC ships for keeps a thing in this game or not? Because if you're not supposed to be able to do that, if its not meant to be a thing it explains this, the code is just like..... no you're not having this, now you die.

Ah yes!

This may be useful to others too so will quickly reply here. It's the MSIAfterburner.cfg file where the custom RTSS settings are stored located in C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner\Profiles.

Link to my https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tfFfrQyxmfGdz-xTTdH_6JqRQkFxz3c6/view?usp=sharing.

And my RTSS window looks like this:

Just back up your current one, close Afterburner, replace the cfg file and open up Afterburner + RTSS and check the OSD in a game. You can then rename the groups etc in Afterburner settings as you wish (Monitoring tab) to tweak to your liking.

A few bugs today:
- quest enemy fell though the floor, eventually reappeared after entering and then leaving my ship
- visited a ship trader on a station and then couldn’t renter my ship, had to reload
- floating decorations on a planet

Had a nice break and back into it. Hopefully level 10 before I get tired and finally off Kreet

I had an entire planet and several pirate ships disappear today, which made fighting them a little tricky.

You can yes, if you want to mod them you need to Register the ship to be yours, which costs credits. In space you can disable their engines and then board them. Or you can find a ship on the ground, there's landing spots that can be found.

I saw one land in the distance real early on and it was a bunch of colonists with a broken ship, needed repairs in ship parts.
