7.9 hours in, just done some stuff with Delgado on/from Key and getting some objectives done down on The Lock. that section was quite tedious as the NPC glitches and NPC trigger to activate the next bit, such as awaiting for Delgado to meet you at the terminal to use the ID card he has to open the door took about 10 minutes of prancing around going back and forth until he suddenly materialised and we could progress into the structure. I honestly thought I had to find an ID card somewhere nearby so spent those 10 minutes trying to find something that doesn't exist as the terminal popup box says an ID card is needed.....
I also found out by accident you can mouse wheel out when flying in space for third person view which is much better than cockpit view, especially on ultrawide with a proper FOV set (using 95 now):
Annoying that photo mode is locked to 16:9 as well, was hoping to take some nice screenshots but nope, pillarboxes :/
Some of the textures up close are very good though, shame this doesn't apply to many areas of the game as highlighted in various reviews:
What is apparent is that you can spend several hours just doing simple side quests lol.
What is also apparent is that the entire inventory, skill tree, powers, upgrading weapons and whatnot is mostly absolute toilet. Coming from Cyberpunk, this system feels like it was designed in the 1990s and never really evolved from then. Some basic stuff like sorting by damage/value etc are available, but the whole UI is cumbersome and tedious to use quickly and put stuff into slots. Again, they market the game as "25 years in the making" on their social media pages, really! The RPG mechanics certainly need some overhauling and hopefully modders will sort this out like they did with Witcher 3 etc.
Oh yeah mentioning glitching NPCs earlier, far too many dialogue cutscenes take place with glitched characters, either way in a corner somewhere else an all you see is a blank wall, or something like this lol:
I think this happens because the NPCs that are following you for missions don't follow you quick enough and lazy about way back somewhere, and then you reach a trigger point for dialogue which then results in the above. This is poor AI mechanics.
Other than that though, most of the other bits are kinda cool.
