Is 30 for 4K such an unusual thing on consoles? I haven't got a current gen console so I have no idea tbh.

I'll be picking up for pc, eventually, though. Any Bethesda game I always end up modding the bejebus out of it anyway as the modders make them better games. Although, again, I've no idea if the modding scene for consoles has improved.

no, FF16 demo is 4K@30 quality and the performance mode is all over the place with drops to 10.

You can do that already in star citizen.

Pause = stuck in elevator.

Save = land your ship in any cities or space station.

Come back? When the server 30k, that's your que to come back to the game later lol
 
I still remember hearing people go on about PS5 will be targeting 120fps. Lol.

I was like erm, devs will just bump up the graphics and offer you 30fps like always. Only difference is you may get a 60fps mode with worse image quality as an option.

The thing is, this game doesn't look that amazing to warrant current gen consoles struggling to run it at 60 fps

Maybe. Not even looked at it in much detail. All I know is I won't have any issues hitting 60fps. Hopefully will be fine hitting that using DLDSR 5160x2160 and setting DLSS to Quality.

I've got a three months gamepass that came with a Lenovo laptop I bought last year, never activated it.

I'll use it for this, I think.

Depending on reviews and price I will either go gamepass route or steam key.

If good reviews and cdkeys has it for around £35 then I will buy it day 1 or pre order. If not will do gamepass and buy on steam in 5 years time with all DLC. Come to think about I should just do latter anyways.
 
Just had a look on cdkeys. They want £45.. Not happening when it is on gamepass which I can get for a few quid for 2-3 months..

Makes more sense for me to just wait and get the GOTY on steam in a few years and replay then.
 
I think people should be comparing this more to mass effect 1 to 3 over nms.

Nms is just so hollow. There's very little to do. And very little story, that's very minorly through text.

Not to poop on nms, it's fun for what it is, I just think it's unfair to put them 2 together.

As much as I will likely enjoy playing this game, the reality is that I would much rather a new elder scrolls. Good to see they are going for a new ip though. I'm sure my unborn kids will be playing stsrfield 6 and then it really will be something amazing.
 
The NMS comparisons seem to be because it's a huge amount of planets and they're all procedurally generated but from what I understand NMS didn't have the event/point of interests that starfield will do. They did say (I think) that a lot of it is done by hand, bases, creatures etc. I do think there will be a lot of hopping around the planet to quick land at each point though.

Looking back at the gameplay and there's some real issues with the ui in that it's too basic. Looting a corpse had a list of items but no icons, colours, nothing apart from the name and quantity.
