Depends which shaders you're using, as midnight can look like daytime, sorry GREYtime...Is it midnight tonight for the standard edition start?
As said though, really not a big deal thanks to the modding scene and nvidias t-shirt dlss preset sizing (so devs don't have to fine tune it like **** to get the best from it)
Gonna build my base tonight, have yet to find a decent planet though to settle on.
Not sure what im looking for either.
Did you find the mine in a cave? How does that work?
How DARE you make perfect sense on here, this isn't the thread for that!Actually it's a huge deal. No-one should have to resort to the modding scene to get core game features that should be included as standard, such as joint DLSS and FSR support and other important things like FOV sliders (if you don't need this, fine, but many gamers like myself do due to motion sickness).
Should games devs use DLSS or FSR as a crutch instead of properly optimising their games? Of course not. But the technology isn't going away so games need to support it, which means both flavours DLSS and FSR. This shouldn't even be up for discussion in 2023.
No by mine I mean an outpost that I've setup to just run extractors and mine ore.
Currently getting around some of the space issues by the classic base trick. Remove the door when you leave.
I made a new thread which looks over a few of the CPU reviews and CPU memory scaling:
Starfield CPU performance reviews
Now a few reviews have come out,I thought it will be useful to have the information in one thread. CPU benchmarks 1.)PCGameshardware(05/09/23) CPUs run at default RAM speeds https://www.pcgameshardware.de/Starfield-Spiel-61756/Specials/cpu-benchmark-requirements-anforderungen-1428119/...forums.overclockers.co.uk
It does seem very single core limited and looks very similar scaling to what I saw in the Fallout 4 benchmark thread I help run. Intel was much better on average in that game to. Zen3 did poorly in that too!
It also does scale with faster RAM,but not as much as Fallout 4. However,it appears the X3D CPUs,even though they are the best AMD CPUs for the game, seem relatively worse than they did in Fallout 4!
It's frustrating reading how far others have got and I'm still wandering around Kreet not really knowing what to do next
Anyone running with a 3080Ti, how are you getting on?
Ive kept everything on ultra for simplicity sake at 1440, but seem to get around the 60fps I desire! Give or take 10 at times.
Exactly, and no-one can argue with you because this is your thread. And it's been endorsed/verified by Bethesda. My feeling is sure I am leaving fps on the table due to cpu bottleneck at times, this happened on Spiderman Miles Morales also, but who cares if I am getting my desired minimum fps anyways? No way am I upgrading my cpu for one game or even more.
Once I get to the point where I can get 50-60fps on most new games coming out after they have been patched up, then I will consider an upgrade. Otherwise I still feel my 5900X is a beast
Wouldn't worry about it. I was on Kreet for like 6 hours at least before leaving. Take your time and enjoy. These kind of rpg games don't come often.
I do. Does the job fine for me. I am on 3440x1440 and have a 5900X. 60fps is plenty for this game. IMO.
It was not, as that was classed as early access, "day 1" is officially the 6th. I suspect Bethesda have been so quiet because they've been taking notes from early access feedback and adding things to patch as a result.Anyone know if the day 1 patch was released with the early access or is it for the full launch?

"That man chose to die!" sorry couldn't resist! Haha Nick Valentine! Its a useful bit of information when you do decide to upgrade. But it appears AMD is pulling a switcheroo with the RX7800XT launch. So I will be GPU limited with my RTX3060TI.

Edit*
Although looking online just now, seeing this:
Starfield day one update patch notes leaked: Performance, gameplay & bug fixes - Charlie INTEL
Starfield has received a day one patch ahead of launch. Here’s a guide covering all the fixes introduced by Bethesda.www.charlieintel.com
current game version matches that. So seems the early access download included the patch :S

Well if you're a good boy, and your 3060ti is still capable of remote access, I'll let you have a laggy asf remote access playthrough on mine? I mean whats 10,000ms response time in both refresh and button response time in a SP game, cant be any worse than the 30fps xbox version surely...
*Awaits flack*
Yeah I mean it shouldn't be THAT hard to get remote access game streaming workingI will probably have to muck around with some settings - probably will be playable.
