***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

I would argue that if it runs fine with DLSS then it still runs fine. It's literally a feature of the GPU.
Dropping into the '40s would be quite jarring I agree.

Actually that reminds me of when there is a bug in a game that affects absolutely everybody and you always get that one person. Well, I haven't noticed anything.
I reckon we should all get 4090's and framecap/monitor hz 1:1 to 30fps and get that nice xbox experience  But then we'd have to set it more like 20fps for it to simulate unstable console frame rates?

9/10 for me. I never read a single review or watched single moron… er I mean YouTube influencer to make my mind up either.

It’s funny how some people can’t make their own mind up and need to be told what “they” think. It’s a game, don’t like it move on with your life. I mean they hate it so much yet still waste time thinking about it and posting about it. Move on for your own sake and for everyone else’s.

We had the same issue in the BG3 thread, people like to moan about a game even if they're not actively playing it, or they dislike it.

Fwiw I like BG3 and this, playing through them both.

It’s a human nature thing. If you don’t like something or someone, you take joy when they fail.

Though I question the mental health of anyone the persistently wastes time and go out of their way to make their contempt known.

It reminds me of that quote: "do you not F your wife to keep her fresh for the next guy..." these people actually exist though, that's the scary thing, like these helmets that buy a fast classic car and just start it up once a month 'to listen to the carburetors' with a cocked knee and a glass of wine, then turn it off...

I've been so looking forward to this game since announcement day. In the wait, a friend convinced me to get & play BG3. I feel it has spoiled parts of Starfield for me. Starfield now feels... stupid. Less polished. Big easy to read text for kids. No real 'thinking outside the box', just rinse & repeat the same sort of thing. Wish I never played BG3 now :(

Don't forget to do The Rangers storyline on Akila (Akila City).

Not only is it a super engaging quest line but you get some blinding rewards and your own Star Eagle ship which is one of the best pre-designed in game.

You also seem to get an increased reputation and appreciation as you walk around.

2200 cargo plus other onboard storage on Star Eagle.

Kill Ron Hope when the time comes by following the chat through to justice. I tried both and this is key to your rep plus no negative consequences
I decided to get back to this quest line last night. I thought i had to go back to do more missions from the board in Akila so i cleared them all and nothing happened. Ok, so I’m thinking i need to do more of them, started another and the first thing Barrett says when we get out of the ship is ‘Deja vu’… Alarm bells are now ringing so i looked online for a guide and the damn quest was active the entire time. Will get that finished off today.

At level 24, i feel like i should probably clear more of these stupid temples out (only done the first one) but I really can’t be bothered with them.

Ordered a 7900xt from OCuK which is coming today too. On my system (5600x, 3070FE) the hitches and stutters in places like Akila were getting ridiculous - Starfield wasn’t the only reason to upgrade, just the straw that broke the camels back.

The idea that people shouldn’t watch reviews to determine if they should invest their money and time into a game is a brain dead take. Only trotted out when people don’t like hearing bad thing about a game they like.

The fact that you made such a brain dead take while simultaneously giving a review is just the cherry on top of this **** sandwich and shows you weren’t even thinking about what you wrote.

Don't often agree with you :p ;) But 100% on this!

The game is great but it's not without its drawbacks and to ignore the issues is just downright stupid.

Yes exactly, the game is good, but only within the confides of certain elements. It has some major question marks on both console and PC, but even more on PC which are more than just oversights, but conscious decisions, and people are 100% within their right to flag those things up and ask wtf. Far as I can see it is fully deserving of the current review score trend on Steam/MC etc.

It will go up again after the first dlc and some patches.
From the modding community, not Bethesda because Todd thinks it's [perfect right now and fully optimised.

Agreed. As much as I’m enjoying this game there are elements which are just mystifying. Namely the hdr issue, the UI and inventory management off the top of my head. All things that have been at least partially addressed by modders within days so there’s no excuse really.

However none of these things are preventing from having a lot of fun playing it :)
