***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

The New Atlantis trees and vegetation look like they were designed by a blind person.

In terms of overall city design, there's just a massive disparity between somewhere like Neon and New Atlantis in my opinion.

Why would anyone want to watch that though?
Surely people make their own minds up?

I swear youtubers are grabbing at some seriously thin straws for content these days!

Imagine it got shut down or banned or the revenue removed and they actually had to get real jobs...

Perhaps to save them money? Maybe to avoid wasting their time? I think most reasonable people would agree with the content of the video. The writing in Starfield is the worst in any Bethesda to date and compared to other games such as Cyberpunk or Balder's Gate 3 it is embarrassingly bad.

*Some* of the writing, Cyberpunk has its fair share too.

Have you played Starfield yet?

So, success or is the jury still out?

Fairly average I think..it's not bad, and even though I don't think it's particularly good, I'm still playing for some reason! I do think I'm going to bored of it fairly soon though.

I do think the 7/10 reviews for it spot on.

Part of me feels like they got stuck in a time bubble whilst developing it during those 7 years. If this was released on Xbox one/ps4 in 2016 I think it would have been really good at the time. Releasing it now after all the really good RPG type games we've had since....hm, it just feels dated.

This would be a hot take if the story was a strong point of any of the games.
Just as the jumping around turn based combat in BG3 is 'embarrassingly bad' people generally don't play a CRPG because of the gameplay, it's the writing which shock horror BG3 has strong writing. It's almost like these games play to their strengths.

Witcher 3 has great writing, I don't remember it winning any accolades for the combat and movement.

I'm not really sure what Starfield's strength is though. Poor writing. Average combat. Poor space flight. Average graphics. Sub par performance. Good sound I suppose.

And that's fine. It's okay for you not to be sure, it's obviously not for you, move on :)

I've had the same with loads of big releases where I just don't get it and wonder what exactly I'm missing. Then again, I enjoy plenty of games that don't review well too just because they fall into the 'games I like' bracket.

Average graphics
Average graphics? Haven't you seen how realistic the trees look?

(100€ AAA 2023 game btw)

Then stop playing and move onto a different game? Why keep posting over and over about it being so poor? Are you another person who hasn’t played it and just wants to jump on a particular bandwagon?

Not gonna do that purely because it's just been spoiled.

Also unless it's a bug, that sounds like of those those stupid things people say to get you to waste time when it doesn't actually do anything. Aiming your cursor should do nothing mechanically.

As we've all mentioned countless times, you can easily try a game out/get a refund at the click of a button on steam, or use gamepass etc etc... It's not really a big deal to click download on something and come back in a few hours/next morning and it be done and try it out is it over a weekend/day off... I mean they couldn't really make it any easier to try out games these days really could they!

You'll never know though because that's not your opinion and it's too much hardship for you to click a few buttons/play it yourself/click refund within the time slot.

Why even bother 'wasting time' on this thread if you've no interest in the game? The amount of time you've wasted on here over the last week, you could have actually tried the game out and formed your own opinion vs following clickbait on youtube and twitter.

Do you let your parents/friends/people on youtube choose your next partner to date and the location? I mean how far do you go with this if you're literally letting some random clickbait fool on youtube generating nonsense for income and 'clicks' determine what your wallet does...

Ignorance is bliss I guess m9
