***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

I bought an EMP type weapon for my ship.

But now I want to go back to the previous ballistic weapon I had from the start, how on Earth do I change it back?

All I see is upgrades that'll cost me for a different weapon lol.

Out of interest, if the game has no strengths you can note, why are you still playing it?
I am playing it because FPP/TPP RPGs are my favourite genre and even the weaker ones are more interesing to me than 99% of other games. I enjoy the gameplay loop of Bethesda games, and their atmosphere, even if they annoy me with their flaws, many of which have been repeated for decades by this studio.
I didn't say the writing should be excused either, nowhere in what you quoted does it say that.
You didn't say it directly but your post obviously implied it.
I disagree about BG3 having great gameplay, it's point and click but funnily enough that is subjective
I actually played BG3 with controller and that third person camera, so it was not point and click for me. I also much more enjoy direct control over point and click type control. But BG3's gameplay quality stems also from its systems and the amount of freedom it gives player. Plus interesting combat encounters with very little filler.
I don't think any one thing has stood out for me so far on Starfield, however, when combined, it has resulted in a (so far) enjoyable experience.
I mean, I agree. I don't think Starfield is a terrible game, I am enjoying it, but I am not in love with it, at least so far. I am..whelmed.

He must enjoy submissive gameplay torture
and getting worked up about clickbait reviews/youtubers as a kink or something?

Maybe you should re-read what I wrote, because your post is nonsensical and a bit creepy to be honest.

The ship building in this is bewildering to me. I'll need to watch a guide as it’s like trying to put together an ikea wardrobe drunk at the moment.

@Paul_cz We play (and enjoy) the game for the same reason then. This goes back to what I've been saying all along that if people enjoy Bethesda games despite their numerous and obvious faults, there is still plenty to enjoy in Starfield. I was going to ignore your blatant contradiction but clearly you do know what the strengths of the game are because you just stated them.

Whilst I'm at it, my post didn't imply anything, you just chose to interpret it as such because it suited the point you were trying to make.

As to why it keeps getting compared to a CRPG I'll never know.

Oh and re atmosphere, I find this one a bit lacking purely because of the travelling between places, at least in FO/ES it's sort of one continuous map.

Go to the ship building guy and open the menu. One is for upgrades and the other for ship building. Go to the latter one. Then you can use G on a PC,to move to weapons. Select and delete the weapon you want to remove. Then click on the menu on the weapon you want. Then move to it to the weapon mount. Then when you exit the menu you can save changes.

Tried that, but I don't have any weapons other than to buy weapons, even deleting the weapon I've got equipped it seems like I have to buy another.

You need to delete it and then buy the weapon you want and put it into that slot. When you deleted the previous weapon, the cost of the EMP weapon would have been reduced(minus the value of the old one IIRC).

Sarah is such an annoying character. Makes me laugh how she hates me too, like if I ask her to do anything she's all like "Are you joking, I'd rather do anything else but look at you you big ****", then I ask to trade and she's all nice like "oh golly yes I'd be happy to carry anything for you".

Right, was thinking of going and seeing her so she joins my party, but nay put it off a while longer.

I played over 20 hours - looking at all the complaining about bugs, I barely seen any.

Not even a single floating NPC! Even asked mates and it's surprisingly bug free for a Bethesda Games Studio game.

Mates RX6700XT runs it better than my RTX3060TI but it's still OK at lower settings so should be able to finish the game. Once Nvidia releases a newer driver it should help.

Strange the last one was quiet a while ago!

I am at 36 hours now. Level 26 and have over 600K credits. Just need to level my piloting skills one more time so I can buy a class C ship which costs 380K and has a cargo hold of 6000 :D

Enrolled as a ranger after doing a bunch of bounty missions. Will probably take me until the weekend to complete the ranger stuff by the sounds if it.

Fallout:London

Is that out now? Fully done? Might try that at some point. But got Cyberpunk next.

It was already done, but they delayed the release not to clash with Starfield. I think between Starfield and that game I will OK for now. Will buy Phantom Liberty afterwards, especially since the MK2 version of the base game is even more intensive than the original one.

Honestly it's my biggest bug with this game. Feels so disjointed. I can't map anything out in my head, and it's just loading after loading. I really wish they had put more effort into this single issue.

At no point am I feeling like if someone says "on x place/town/planet you need to grab this item" I would know what direction that is I need ti head in. So sad as it's not something I can see being fixed with mods.

Half this thread is people moaning or finding all these weird bugs or issues. I expected to go into it with New Vegas level of bugs. So far I have hardly seen any bugs.

Literally everyone I know is finding the game fun, even on less than great hardware. Put over 30 hours into this game, and even on my new potato PC it works mostly OK with a bit of upscaling enabled.

I was thinking of playing Phantom Liberty which is coming out soon, but I think that is being shelved until I finished this game, and then finish Fallout:London.
Yep!!! Told you mate :)
I did make this clear from the day 1 pre-order it ran fine and how I personally had forgotten to even update my drivers since installing the card on the 26th july  I did update them but it made no difference, which means those early 4070 drivers have been pretty decent as I've yet to have any issues in ANY game out of the 30-40 I've thrown at it since I finished building the rig on the 26th of july :D

But remember, no one wants to hear positive, they just want a gpu racist crash course and to kiss the backsides of clickbait youtubers and let them decide everything in their life and then argue about things they don't even own/wont try and say they know better :cry:
When's fallout london out, I've been patiently waiting for that one!
Back on topic though, I'm better than you rah rah rah charts youtube paid off journalism etc etc - that should keep people happy for the next 5 mins (maybe)
