***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

Which posters are hanging out and only doing likes instead of posting here themselves?

Or is this just another attempt at trying to police other people’s actions and opinions on a forum?

If people are getting triggered by the like system, it’s no surprise they can’t handle a bit of criticism about a game.

my thoughts too.

With the temperature dropping off yesterday managed to get some hours in, got my piloting maxed out and spent a hour building a ship I hope sees me through the game now.

Went to Neon 5 hours later still there doing quests...

Yes I am indeed "hate playing" it. Nothing wrong with that as it really is no different to knowingly watching bad movies. So bad they are good. Although I wouldn't say Starfield is so bad it is good. It is just extremely mid. Doesn't really do anything terribly (apart from the writing) but just doesn't really excel at anything either.

My enjoyment from Starfield is being derived from playing it just to see how average it is and then moaning about it here!

You know your loving it :D

Otherwise you would have done the main quest and be done with it by now. Either that or you are a masochist

I’m still using the Star Eagle and it’s serving me well at the moment although i have about 400k saved and i do have my eye on a rather large and angry looking thing from one of the vendors… i think it was called stronghold and cost about 350k.

The biggest issue with the game is the engine it’s just not up to the job really. Bethesda need to either move to something more modern or massively update what they have.
I believe its an updated creation engine 2, first game they used it in, elder scrolls 6 is also planning to use the same engine, although we probably wont see it to maybe 2028

Been using the Star Eagle too, pretty much suits what I have to do....i.e. nothing in space. Does it have a shielded hold?

Tried building an outpost last night, I built a HAB with an airlock but then couldn't put anything inside it, I just hope my poor workers are happy kipping on a floor.

level 24 with 35ish hours in and still enjoying it, I agree with a post on here that said maybe it should be smaller with more on each world, maybe more worlds as DLC?

I'm just waiting on the big Preston Garvey reveal, aha you thought you did 1000 quests for the rangers but it was really me all along.

people are speed running the main quest in an hour for NG+ bonus gear, so don't go thinking its some 10hour campaign
it's also the weakest part of the game.

It's probably better to rush the campaign at least once and then do all the side content tbh, it seems to be how its intended

Had no idea it was that short. Guess I'll probably just get it out the way myself then.

I am indeed playing only the main quest. I can only really take an hour at a time though. I am about 10 hours in at the moment I think and nothing interesting has happened. How many hours before it gets good?

For me it gets good when you do your own thing. Do side quests, go to random places and speak to random npcs - the main quest is tedious and i would gladly shove each of the constellation characters out of an airlock.

By the way getting better ships and upgrading your piloting helps make using the ships much more responsive and fun.

At the start your turn rate is so bad it seems clunky and not fun. But I am starting enjoy killing pirates more and more with these upgrades.

I think you’ve mistaken Paul for another poster, as nothing about his posts suggest he’s force feeding himself the game.

Almost certain you’ve confused him with the poster who said he was “hate playing” it.

Just flat out weird telling people what to do with their time tbh. If you don’t like the criticism, don’t respond to it and do yourself a favour.
If I have then sorry, it'd literally be a glitch in the matrix when clicking quote, which haha did happen on another post/forum the other day funnily enough, it got the quote right in this case but not the author haha.

The people moaning about how bad it is and the writing quality despite not playing it are doing the same thing though?

I couldn't care less I've had it since prerelease and love it. It's just funny that people are kicking off about it and one person (who my reply was intended at) was forcing themselves to play it despite rambling on and on about hating it.

Either way none of that denotes 'creepy' so a new dictionary is needed...

That IS literally what you're doing.

Imagine if you just put all the moaning and frantic refreshing of this forum/linking shill clickbait moan reviews and yt junk towards just playing it?

You'd have finished it by now and have moved on and witnessed the great outdoors etc etc.

Anyone find any good places to build a colony?

I found a moon called Montara Luna in Cheyenne, seems quite nice, breathable atmosphere, temperate.

On Narion, there's a moon there that has 4 resources which are pretty valuable for base building.

Aluminium
Berylium
Helium
Iron

I managed to get a base setup with 3 of the 4 resources mining. Just need to level up my outpost perks now to make the best of it.

Man the texture packs when they're all done are gonna be amazing. Really looking forward to the Halk Hogan one though.
