***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

So I merely commented in a thread on reddit about Starfield where I shared the exact same things I posted in here, it seems over there the megafans need a new level of cope when when they see someone posting genuine criticism of the game's issues as confirmed by many here and elsewhere.

Dear oh dear.

I bet they are beefing because you stretched the thread with screenshots

Was it that area? I went in expecting something super eerie, but it was not on the same levels of let's say Alien: Isolation levels of actual fear though :o
OFFTTTT!!! Alien: Isolation played on the hardest difficultly with a mic on to give your position away from breathing just like in Manhunt 1 with the headset <3 Yessss!!!

Ok well that was interesting!

Yeah! Minute I stumbled across that place I was thinking 'uh-oh' :D

Did you go to the abandoned fuel depot on the same planet? Well there’s another big oil platform thing about 400m away. Pay that a visit ;)

Hmm... not sure I did - might have to go back there and check.

That's the one - yeah - would've been nice if there was a bit more to it but as a random 'quest' I just happened to stumble across I thought it was fun - definitely a nod to 'A Quiet Place'.

I had fun earlier today - was doing a few pirate bounties to level up my Outpost Engineering and saw a 'Crashed Ship' site - these are cut 'n paste but have some rare/exotic parts so I figured I'd take a look - ended up exploring a bit and found an outpost kilometres away from my ship that had the *best* resources - bought everything and was massively overloaded so started waddling slowly back to my ship and came across an abandoned weapon factory filled with high-level pirates.

The boss was 80 - I'm lvl 54 - toughest fight I've had so far since I was totally out of oxygen the whole time and the site was *packed* with enemies - don't think I've ever used so many aid items in one location. Once they were all dead I thought 'sod it' - I already can't walk - might as well pick up *everything* - took ages to get back to my ship but the haul was worth it :D

I wish they'd added battle damage textures to apply to your ships. Not keen on the clean look.
That'd be cool - I'm sure that's something that could be modded pretty easily.

The weapon and suit skin customization is really weird too - has anyone found anything other than the preorder skins (Constellation and Old Mars)? I suspect Bethesda are planning on selling them.

Is a 20c hotspot over the core temp ok? Seeing 80c and hotspot is 100c.
I will be changing my case soon as my current one is not providing enough airlfow.

Sorry wrong thread!!

Been doing the UC Vanguard quests this time and really enjoying them.

And the right thread. I'm off to bed lol

It's probably not going to happen but there is something that would be a massive lost opportunity if Bethesda doesn't do it and that is an expansion focused entirely on a first contact situation. I don't think anyone else in this genre has explored first contact in it's entirety as it's always either settled lore like with Mass Effect or you're just thrown into a conflict like with Wing Commander which isn't very interesting tbh.

No doubt that the first DLC will involve the Va'Ruun and hopefully it will try to wedge it in a little bit, it'd be a huge shame if they opt not to do it as going from an all human experience to the mystery of sightings/diplomacy/actual initial conflict is a sorely lacking theme in this genre.
