***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

They’ve fixed the scanner which is useful.

Well thank you whoever it was in this thread that recommend X4, picked it up earlier for £15 and its now damned midnight. Where did all that time go

How have you not played before? It’s much more polished too. Stopped playing a few DLCs ago, but have put crazy hours into it. Quite fancy playing again actually, although I always end up breaking my game because I just can’t resist taking over every market.

  • Vendors: Addressed an issue that allowed for a vendor’s full inventory to be accessible.

I'm willing to overlook many of the glaring issues this game has and just try to enjoy it, but this is taking it too far :D it's a Bethesda game ffs!

Visited my outpost yesterday only to find it overrun with local critters - Heller was cowering under his desk, my power management robot was scrap and my Propulsion Expert was MIA. Rest in peace you glorious hippy - gonna miss the way you said 'captain on deck' :(

Now I get why there is the option to build turrets

Barrett isn’t much better. ‘Hello my Starshine’ for example
I noticed yesterday that the dialogue actually changes the longer you're with someone - heard a bunch of lines from Andreja that were either new or subtly different variations on things she already said.

I also got a bunch of unexpected dialogue from a companion that'd been on my ship for a while regarding her thoughts on being a crew-member for a while - love these little touches.

Its one of those that I kept meaning to try out but something else always came along and took my attention.

Yeah Barrett keeps giving me food. Which is nice but it feels like he wants to talk every five mins and i keep fantasising about shoving him out the airlock.

One other thing i noticed yesterday is i was trying to sneak up to a base but i kept showing as unhidden or whatever. Couldn’t understand it then realised it was because of the flying whales. They need to patch that so it only relates to actual enemies.

That has been a thing even in fallout, detected when green is ok I think.

Night to myself tonight, sat down to a couple of hours of Starfield.

New patch, XBox Live failed installation with a 0x80070199 error.

Downloaded it all again, same thing. As per usual with MS, less than helpful error codes/help pages and nothing from Bethesda.

So glad I just renewed my XBL sub to play this. Grr.

It's done it again. Reeeeeee.

Damn that sucks :( hope you get it working soon!

I sat down for an hour this evening and ended up playing for four...

Encountered two derelict ships - both with an interesting story to tell - and got a distress call from a ship that was infested with some nasty critters with the captain begging me to help him. Then I finally figured out how to get inter-system cargo runs going from my outpost and made some credits and XP selling silver to New Atlantis :)

Finally completed it. Level 53 with approximately 78 hours on the clock :D

Too tired for a mini review, but will do when I get the chance.

Cyberpunk here I come :D

Not sure if I am missing something, but is there an easy way to find a location you have already visited ? Or are you supposed to remember which city is on which planet ?

On the star map, no not really, on the system maps the trading locations etc have little icons over the planets.

And if you build an outpost you get an icon.

There are not that many you need to remember though.

Off the top of my head, Sol for Cydonia, Alpha Centuri for New Atlantis, Volli for Neon, Cheyenne for Akila City.

Those are the main locations and have all the major traders.
