***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

I noticed youtubers credits are like 10 million, sooo how does one do that? :)
Probably via the console. Legitimately? I have no idea - the only reason I have 400k atm is 'cause I haven't upgraded my ship in a while - that's about to change though 'cause I'm just starting the Crimson Fleet questline and the Fleet has some nice ship parts...

If you really don't have an SSD/NVME then I'd guess that's your problem.

The samsung evo 970s are SSDs, i think that’s just a typo. I assume/hope he has the game installed on the ssds and not the HDD.

I think you need to buy cosmetic from the general type stores, doubt you'll find it on any planet as I don't think its a mineral/plant that you can extract.

Track it in your research centre or workbench. There are cosmetic boxes on planets in random outposts but can't remember if they are part of research or manufacturing components.

Yea turns out you can although so far from my own looking it seems as rare as rocking horse ****.

But Shoza II, found a creature that drops cosmetic, and according to the scanner it's able to be produced at an outpost.

That is good news.

I'm trying to find some other sources as Shoza II isn't ideal for me, but nothing so far, I've literally spent maybe 8 hours scanning around for it and so far that's the only place, and I picked that location up from a Reddit post to be honest.

You could try these also
  • Carasnail Scavenger: Found on Jemison in Deciduous Forest and Mountainous biomes.
  • Cliff Laurel: Found on Jemison in Mountainous and Savanna biomes.
  • Schooling Kronosaurus Grazer: Found on Sumati in Ocean biomes.
  • Herding Coralbucket Filterer: Found on Gagarin in Swamp, Rocky Desert and Wetland biomes.

If anyone is interested I done a little list. Is is not complete (eg not all resources on each location is listed) mainly because there is no need to duplicate.

But might find useful, few hours there anyway:

Enjoying the game, discovering random Spacer filled outposts. Just wish that we could aquire abandoned outposts after clearing out the baddies.
Downsides are the poor instructions and controls for ship building. Also lack of opportunity to kit the ship out internally.
Daily Mod watching, to see if my wishes become available.. :)

@marty, you cant farm the ones on Sumati, they are fish (I guess) so guess you cant have an aqaurium in your outpost, shame, I will check out the others though.

EDIT: Nor the ones at Gagarin as they fly :(

You can't shoot them and collect the resources? I'm confused!

Nah, thats not what I am trying to acheive.

I am trying to setup an production chain of outposts that produces, well if I can manage it, everything.

You can mine all the unorganic resources you need, then chain outposts together using cargo links. The lsit above is actually my various outposts and what they produce, I have chained some of them together but its all work in progress at the moment.

You can do the same thing the with organic resources, you build greenhouses/animal shelters and then you can farm the resources automatically, you need to scan the animal/plant to 100% then it becomes available in your outpost to produce automatically, usually you need to supply it with water, sometimes another natural resource, eg some animal ones from what I seen so far require fiber, but I guess that can vary.

The cosmetic on Shoza II can be produced at your outpost, where as these ones you listed, you would need to manually farm.

I never knew you could do any of that :D

I think the main problem with the writing stems from them creating caricatures and not characters.

Also, I still think it is all too twee/tame. I feel like they completely ignored any sort of reference to sex or sexuality, and got rid any excess gore, to try and make it appeal to a wider audience, but that just leaves it feeling unrealistic/bordering on childish at times.

The characters caricatures are so one dimensional:

Snarky Space Pirate 1
Stuffy British Explorer
Snarky Space Pirate 2
Down to Earth Texas Cowboy (for some reason these are still a thing) Man
Stuffy British Businessman
Hard as Nails Snarky Barkeep

etc etc

I mean, in some respects, the game trying to appeal to a wide range of ages/demographics isn't necessarily a bad thing, but good writers can make that work really well.

I guess, i am dissapointed, because i wanted an RPG game set in space like this, but with more the tone and writing of Witcher, RDR2, GTA or Cyberpunk etc

Interesting you say that because I am switching between this and Cyberpunk at the moment and for me the relentless adult stuff in Cyberpunk is so childish it could have been done by a randy 15yr old. Good to play Starfield and not to have to wince at some unsubtle crude advert or hear that bloody woman moaning over and over everywhere you go.

But it's still far more realistic. The more seedy/poor parts of a city do have strip clubs, sex shops, prostitution etc. The world is inherently full of sex and sexual imagery. Creating a world without it kind of takes away realism.

I'm not asking for childish/horny teenager levels of it, but even some acknowledgement would make the galaxy feel more real.

The game is rated pegi18 and mature, but I have no idea why. It is extremely pg13

It's pegiwoke.

I might be missing something here but I boarded a ship the other day, on the ground before they took of, and claimed it as mine. Now, wasn't going to keep it but is this really right ? I pay 9,7k credit to have it registered so I can sell it for 11,6k credit ?? (See spoiler for picture)

From comment in this thread it seems it suppose to be good money to take over ships and then sell them on ?? Because 1,9k credits don't seem worth it, unless of course once I register the ship the sale value going to change, because I just screen the price and canceled before logging out !

On another note, can you break down weapons and space suits for parts ?? I have not seen such a function but thought I ask in case I'm missing something ?
