Crimson fleet quest was fun, have to say though I was glad to side with the UC not because I like them but because exploring and finding crimson bases while they are friendly is so damn boring!

I sided with the fleet as i liked them but I may have made a mistake for the same reason. During my travels I’ve come up on a few bases and started sneaking up to get stealth kills only to realise it was a pirate base and they were happy to see me

Done that loads, first few times I just thought I was super stealthy, nobody even moved as I shot them….whats that bounty thing…..oh ffs, kill all witnesses then eh!
So, I thought I visit the moon since I never gonna get their myself in my lifetime ! But, while exploring a bit a Vanguard ship landed shortly after I did, then another ship a bit further away. Approaching the Vanguard ship it was no activity there so continued to the other one, which was a bandit ship. Had some fights and then ran into the ship and cleaned it out. But even so had the two options, 'Claim the Ship' or 'Leave'. So obviously I claimed it by sitting down in the chair. But why did they incorporate it to automatically make it your Home Ship ? Why not have a pop up box *This ship is now yours, want to make it your home ship?* then Yes or No ?? Anyway, guess it something one have to get used to ??
Also think I found a bug, or is it a feature ?? I was in an Abandoned Robotics Facility and realised I could access the ships inventory while inside, so though the ship was closer then I thought it be. BUT, once I got out I tried to do it again and nope, couldn't do that ! So turning on the scanner to find out how far from it I am and.. whops, 404 meter ! But if I went back into the building, I could access it just fine again ?? Anyone else had that ??
Ohh and in regards to the Vanguard ship. As I explored further away I found a Observation Platform, as can be seen in the screenie in the below spoiler. The place had a lot of dead Vanguard recruits at the place, was no clue as to who killed them or anything, but it was just about 1000 meters away from where the Vanguard ship had landed (UC Vanguard Raptor, also in the spoiler). I could actually board the ship and speak with the captain on board, but there was NO option to tell her about the dead recruits, which I found odd, but it being a Bethesda game I guess one shouldn't be so surprised ehh ?
Just been reading about habs and storage. Others have suggested that the Armoury hab contains both weapon storage and also some additional generic storage, but that none of the other habs have storage capacity, even the storage habs (yeah, that makes sense…).
Anyone checked this out yet to see if that’s correct and whether it’s possible to sell directly from an armoury when at a base?
Pardon ? Which Captain's hud are you using with infinite storage ?? I have the Nova Galactic Captain's Quarters 2x1, with the Science and the Workshop ones. And the chest in the Captain's Quarter can only take 150 weight.
That don't work though ? At least not for me:
Pretty sure the Captains Quarter and the Workshop hab can't be any closer than that !
Now, I sure hope you were all talking about Ship Habs and not the settlement thingy !
I'm not aware of infinite captain's storage from my testing FYI. Would be great if there was.
You only need one ship with massive cargo hold and this solves all the shared/accessible resources and kit constraints. I have one ship with c11,000 cargo hold. It's got zero mobility a 16LY range but still holds it's own in case of an impromptu dog fight.
Cargo capacity is universal across your whole fleet. You just can't add more to ships with less cargo available. Load it up then just change ships to your usual. You'll end up with 10236/600 cargo as an example.
Just swap back at any ship services to add more.
Money is so plentify in NG+ and lvl 40+ even from NG+1, Outpost building is much more fun than the initial .
Build a large landing pad with shipbuilder as first construction at each Outpost and it's good to go.

I've had mixed results on remote ship cargo inventory access. It doesn't seem to be well explained in game. I've just got to the stage if it works great, if not then meh. There are various triggers around locality (space ports), landing pads, environment / instance facilities like cargo links etc. Some bases clearly have designation of NPC space port / landing pad probably to make the NPC interactions work.
Claiming a ship to become yours naturally defaults to your home ship on a landing site / pad etc. I wonder if this, whilst a feature, was a dev workaround to transfer crew and cargo over and so reducing unwanted bugs / ship crossover or dropped / lost cargo etc.
I've had a couple of occurances of new capture ships sharing the landing pad with other ships in my inventory creating a merged ship on the deck. Requires reload or fast travel to fix.
I’ve just hit level 60, so can put any module on my ship. Once I get out of the current mission, I’ll be finalising the reactor and weapons. Already have the mission engines and biggest shields.
Apologies all, I realised what has happened. I was having a convo with @TheSwede where he mentioned a chest in the captains room meaning you didn't have to use cargo space. I for some reason interpreted this as meaning infinite storage (I guess my brain went not using cargo = unlimited storage), and then regurgitated that info to you without having even seen the crate myself.

I know for the remote ship access when outside of the ship is max 250 meters, hence why I was surprised when I come outside and realized the ship was much further away ! Cargo links I have not used yet, guess that is going with settlement buildings ?

I can't seem to find a solid answer, did Bathesda fix the HDR washout (raised black levels in both SDR and HDR), and also did they fix the terrible colour washout pallet? Not asking about mods, I want to see if a $80 game has yet delivered on basic functions.
