***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

Level 25 now after 40 hours. I have 430k in cedits, what is there to spend them on? Got a new ship from finishing the rangers quest line so coudl upgrade that i guess.

Guessing you have to do all the research for mods etc again?

You keep your level and all your skills (and powers).

Also, you don't have to re-do all the missions - they're optional.

I mean the research itself e.g barrel mods. Having to scour for materials again isn't exactly appealing if so

All your research is kept. You basically keep everything about you and your skills, unused skill points, research, weapon and armour mod research, powers etc.

Money is plentifull in NG+. Sarah or one of the others at constellation gives you a decent starter weapon (reload if not) and money.

Use that cash for the unlimited weapon from player Outpost Weapon Chests (polymer & titanium) feature to give yourself a good weapon, ammo and cash.

Space combat can get pretty ugly pretty quickly without good shields and weapons - and they in turn require a good reactor. You'll quickly want more storage space too (the Payloads skill is useful there as well) - I ended up sinking most of my credits into my ships - I spent a lot on crafting resources too from UC Supply and Jemison Mercantile (Outland has some good manufactured components).

Is there a mod that increases vendor cash?

And is there a mod thread? I'm sure I saw one but can't find it.

Also, Trade Authority reps always have 11000 credits - there's one in each of the major cities.

Each cycle seems pretty quick now. May shoot for NG10 and then settle there.

Just buy all their ammo so you can sell all your equipment. More than enough cash and you may well need the ammo for a legendary weapon later on.

More ships, lots of housing to buy.

Does anyone else wonder why the resources are so cheap to sell but so expensive to buy?! It seem dumb that selling them at one credit is weird
The economy is pretty primitive and as you've no doubt seen from the vendors, quite stingy - like the skill tree, I think it's been tuned to slow players down (Game Pass ) - I think that's also the reason you can't break down items into components or re-use mods on other weapons.

I think it's limiting but not frustratingly so - I was only short of credits a handful of times during my playthrough (ship building!) and even then, a few bounty board space missions and selling some surplus ammo (which is worth a lot in comparison to resources) and I had all the cash I needed.

Versus previous Bethesda titles the skill tree is painfully slow. It does give the game a little more longevity at least.

Credits have never been an issue and at least for future run throughs I know to buy ammo in exchange for everything I carry…and to not bother picking up junk.

Unfortunately some of us just don't have the time to put hundreds of hours into the game to just buy a top tier ship. I may have to keep an eye out for a mod that increases resource values. Im already using one that increases the vender credits from 5000 to 50000

I never have much money so don't know where everyone is getting it from. I'm always upgrading my ship which costs arm n a leg, or filling my ammo up. I only use around 4 weapons max.there's barely any missions left on mission boards as done most of them. My ship is maxed out yet only have just over 300k In Bank after like 130hrs:confused:

The missions refill every 24 (Universal) hours I believe - also, they're different missions in each system. I built a mission board at my outpost and picked up two or three missions every time I swung by there.

BTW, when I stopped playing after nearly 300 hours, I only had 700k in the bank - and half of that was a payout from a quest-line so you're probably doing about the same as I did money-wise :)
