Anything lower just feels trivial though, can't win :D Decided I'll just tackle it later.

new issue, after installing some module under my ship, I now cannot get out of it because I get stuck when I land :D
i had the issue where my ship didn't exist, it was in the ship builders menu, but when selected as home ship, it just wasnt there at landing zone, even though it was saying it was there, it was there in there end, well half of it was  , the other half was invisible, , completely impossible to use, and cost me a fortune to do up, so had to sell it for peanuts and start again:mad:

Uhmm why not just reload an earlier save and start over instead of selling stuff and continuing ?

On a similar note, regarding upgrading. Just upgraded the Mantis ship for around 125k credits so I could finally started using it, jumped to another system, found some space bandits, but since they put up a fight had to kill them off. Went to another planet and once again some crimson guys there, but those started screaming 'it's the mantis !' then they ran away ! So the modifications I did was not enough so they didn't recognize the Mantis ship ! :p

that didnt work, i tried literally everything, i even tried to go back before the upgrades, was as if i wasnt supposed to have it then, but next mission i took, volia, same ship as i had lost had appeared for me to steal, so re did upgrades and was fine and i been using it since as my main ship.
i find the uc cargo ship a beast, its armed to the teeth and with 8k storage

Nice ! What ship is it ?

So I’ve come back to play this and do some more side missions before ending the main line. Delivered aurora to new homestead and made the mistake of doing the tour with bill. About nine hours in and it’s still going :(

Anyone have any tips for using controllers on PC? The default setup is just awful, with the keyboard you press "I" for inventory and the same again returns you to the game. Ok fine. The controller version takes you to inventory but you can't just return to the game you have to exit via the settings menu which you have wait for the starfield logo to load before you can press another button which finally takes you back to the game. I mean, what? Who even thought that was a good idea? Looks like I'm going to have to bypass the official support and use a keypress emulator something like that
Can anyone confirm the FOV for 21:9 is it mega zoomed in or fine out of the box?
It clearly doesn't natively support it the sides of the screen are stretched out fish-eye like, exactly the same as Skyrim, though unlike skyrim it works out of the box with that you had to enter the resolution values manually in the .ini file - the results are exactly the same though
I really want to enjoy this game but feel it's lacking in a lot of areas. I don't mean feature wise like vehicles or atmospheric flight, all though those would have been great. I just don't feel compelled to go exploring, what's the point in owning more than 1 ship once you hit C tier stuff with turrets? You can't fully automate your other ships and have them do jobs like in x4. Outpost building seems cool but pretty pointless. Everything just feels rinse and repeat. Storyline is okay but the whole thing with powers just reminds me to much of the skyrim dragon born stuff so I don't findvut exciting. Even if some of the powers are cool.

Don't get me wrong, I've put a fair few hours into it but I won't be playing this in 10+ years like Skyrim I probably won't be playing this 8n 10+ weeks once "complete"
It seems quite primitive in some ways I mean thing like theres no true directional movement there is only forwards - move the PC backwards and instead of turning around and walking towards the camera he simply walks backwards! Theres even a mod to add that for Skyrim and bethesda didn't think of adding the feature to a 2023 game? Wow.

Nothing fancy, ugly beast, but does the job, edit 7k storage

Anyone know why my frames tanks when I do a hard save? Goes down to single digits and takes 15 sec or so before it's back to 60. Have a 6900xt card, 32g mem och game on a m2 stick.
Maybe a hugh save file? I've not checked how big they are. What CPU?

I've only had 2 crash to desktop moments myself, I'm glad it's pretty stable overall.

edit: I found the save files and they're only ~20mb so not sure. Do you have some software in Windows that does something when you press F5? I guess not cause that's refresh.

I'm pleased with my ship, looks terrible though :) steam screenshots aren't working for me at the moment it seems.

It's class C, Nova, one level/no ladders, 2x2 2x1 2x2 with workshop and captains quarters off the 2x2s, and actually the doors seems to be behaving themselves.

I'm still not sure about engines, I just want to keep 100 mobility and the rest will just be good enough. I'm using ones that only take 2 power so are way more scalable, now have 4 of them and 100 mobility so might have cracked it, but my jump distance has gone down. I tried adding more fuel tanks but didn't affect it so removed that. I'm now putting in more skills to get bonus ship power. 3 lasers and 2 cannons, no missiles, the only down side is I try and take out an enemy ship system and accidently blow them up every time.

It's turned into a ship building sim for me :)

Whats the point of ship classes? Was I supposed to build a ship at every class while I progressed in the game? I went straight from A to C. I might build a B class ship, but what would be the point?

The game is totally unplayable at the moment on my RTX3070. Crashes frequently after a minute or so. It was stable when the game was released. Suspect the NVidia drivers, as they updated a few weeks ago. Anybody having same issues?
Also have issue with Sarah throwing herself at me at every whim. Regretting having this needy GF.... As bad as my wife!! :)

no issues here with a 3060TI... as for sarah - dismiss her after you bagged her.

No problems here with mine, but I haven't updated the drivers for a while. Could you try rolling back the drivers and seeing if that helps?

On XBox controller you exit menus (including the inventory) with the 'B' button.
