***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

Who is that for? As in who hires you? Is that the one where you're meant to go in stealth but can go in guns blazing and the corpo company kicks off? As if so yep!

It does sound familiar name wise, I'll have to check my completed missions, cheers for that!

Nope definitely haven't done the Starseed one! Nice one! Just had a brief look into that. I like the idea of it being a long one not just a quick bit of filler.
Yeah the ship building doesn't really appeal to me, once I've flown to all the missions I don't see what I'd do with any new ships, just blow randoms out of the skies for half hour then get bored? No offense. Just seems like something I should have done whilst doing missions but I never had enough money to do this, which really annoyed me!

That'd be cool if that's true, as you say normally in other games it is straight up bs filler content, where they could have just taken all the side/optional stuff out and made the main story a beast, why why don't people do this, a main story is never long enough and when it get's going it ends - hello Cyberpunk! That's why I'm so grateful Phantom Liberty fixed that and ran parallel, just a shame it wasn't released together in 1 originally!
No, differnt quest. It's picked up by talking to someone on a random planet, the name of which escapes me. One of the best quests in the game imo.

Cool. I have 1.4 million creds with nothing to spend it on.

I would not mind making the Enterprise D if someone has a video online. Or just make my own creation at some point.
Yeah I wasn't paying attention to how much things cost and built a few ships, one of each class :) but the expensive one was another class C cargo ship with 6 engines that might have been the reason why I'm now down from 1.1 million to 250K credits! But it takes a while to get money back only due to the lack of vendors credits for me to sell my crap :)

I'm not really up on my weapon stats but it's got auto turrets, 94 mobility, 6000ish cargo, it might just end up being my main ship for a while. It handled a pirate system pretty well and I didn't have to aim :)

Not sure if this needs to be in spoilers but....

Had my 2nd near game breaking issue yesterday. Because of the lack of time I get to game, I'm not going to NG+. As much as I'd like to try a couple of NG+ I feel I'm a bit too far in at lvl 20 and 30 hours. When I'm done, I'm done.

Came to the end of Legacy's End and the space combat - once again - had me close to dropping SF altogether. It did it to me before where I jumped into combat and kept getting near enough insta-killed and my only previous save I could was hours previously. Fortunately, I found a way to complete the mission - basically drifting up to whatever it was I had to do and jump before the baddies saw me.

Legacy's End final battle is terrible even on very easy and the Razorleaf. I had heavy hull damage and no ship parts - I resorted to console for ship parts and even then couldn't repair.

Additionally, when I jumped away to land somewhere for ship repairs, I kept getting attacked as soon as I jumped in for contraband but rather than pay a fine it kept going straight to combat.

Resorted to console again just to KAH and get through the mission but mission wouldn't progress after I'd KAH'd at The Key.

Was only a passing glance at a reddit post that said boost away from the fight and wait for the pirate ships to come to you. I only did the first wave as I had to finish up but I barely got hit. Hopefully this will be the same for the other waves and at The Key. I don't want to resort to console to get past this section.

So I was about 45-48hours in, having done all the factions/main story, none of the random npc missions you just walk past who chat to you, haven't bothered with building an outpost, not fussed with ship building...
What exactly am I missing out on that would give me more hours? Or have I done the 'proper' style missions like the factions/main story offered...

I'm kind of majorly against doing the "bumped into you do you want to do this pointless linear X and Y for me quick" style missions in games, they're filler content to me usually and I'm not for that hollow stuff.

If not then fair enough, did really like the bits I liked.

Open to suggestions.

The game really does open up more with the first new game plus.

Everything is rescaled to your level properly, easier credits etc and you can skip the main missions, just collect artifacts. Quest XP increases too so it's easy to level each NG+ once you start stagnating. I would say most of the game starts as you progress through the NG+ levels.

NG+ gives you time and easy credits to enjoy the side quests, factions, ship building and outpost creation. You start with a ship that can cross the whole map which really opens the game up

I hindsight, I would have spent less time in the first universe than I did

Yes very cool, but Each time you start NG+ is a stronger versions of Starborn ships, and Armor when you clear 10 times to get the strongest Armor in game but after 5 playthroughs you lose Andreja, Vasco. And Cora a copy of yourself that you have to kill for the artifact.

But this isn't a traditional New Game Plus in Starfield

What's Carries Over:D

Level
Skills
Skill Magazines
Traits
Background
︎Powers
︎Research Lab Progress
︎Name and Appearance

What you lose each time you start NG+

Weapons
Armor
Inventory items
Credits
Quantum Essences
Ships
Outposts
Mission Progress
Romance
Systems

This game conflicts the hell out of me. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a single player game since twin Kingdom valley on the C64 and god knows I've tried*. But I'm so into starfield it's crazy, really enjoying it and wondering if I've missed out on a few of the fallout series.

* I've tried all the Witcher series, GTA's, RDR2 yada yada yada, never stuck to them beyond a few hours.

Stick to it and when you feel it is getting stale go play Fallout 3, New Vegas and 4 or try the Stalker series. Add a few weather mods and inventory mods and enjoy.

I'm not rushing it at all, just plodding along. I think I'm around L23 now after about 30 or so hours of just doing side quests and capturing bounty hunters ships (wanted trait).

Fallout 4 is 10x better than Starfield in my opinion.

Even Fallout 76 considering how poor it was on release, if you compare current states of both games is much better than Starfield.

Id say Fallout 3 was good but it's not aged that well, I tried to play it a year or so ago and felt very clunky.

Fallout New Vegas was awesome and significantly better than 3 in my opinion, but it's been a good few years since I played it so may have aged a bit as well.

There is supposed to be a FO4 update soon, that is when I will try it again, I forget the issue but something stops me playing it, might be a 60 locked fps, not sure.

Yea that is a thing, same for Fallout 76.

If you are playing on PC you can get around it but you have to fiddle with your graphics settings a bit in the driver not the game.

Just google it, but off the top of my head you need to disable vsync but set a frame limit, that also varies between Nvidia and AMD obviously.

But you can definitely play it at high frame rate/refresh with no issues once the settings are tweaked.

Don't forget Fallout London and which should be out between now and end of the year.
