Finally got Shipping Magnate to pop. I ended up adding two more outposts (total of eight), deleting all the shipping links links, then making new ones. On the fourth link it popped in. I think (and it's just a guess) that the decisive factor is that when you create the link you need to hang around long enough for the transfer shuttle to actually appear. If you bug out as soon as the link is made and don't wait I suspect that the game doesn't register the link towards the achievement.

Oh, and I got Life Begets Life as well. Just two left, but i will probably never get them: Reach for the Stars and The Stars My Destination require me to play a character waaaayyyyy beyond the point that I'm bored with them. But 468 hours so far, and still enjoying the game.

A while ago I saw a youtube video of a decent sized ship and built it similar as to theirs, but changed a few things. Here what that ship looked like.

But, missing my Razorleaf I decided to upgrade that one instead, and having installed the Place Doors Yourself mod from Nexus, I ended up with this ship.

And here is it spilt up in the four layer it is made off. It is a tad compact though, not as sleek looking as the other one !
- Top layer is just cosmetics, weapons and the Engine Mounts for three of the SAL-6830 engines. (Just one small change, the top layer I changed the Fuel Tank to some more Shielded Cargo instead. Which can be seen in the first of these three screenies.)
- Third has the 2x2 Battle Station, Captains Quarters (which I see I forgot to colour like the rest of them !) and the docking hab connected to it, a All-in-One and then the Living Quarters. Also three Fuel Tanks and the Reactor, which is presently a lvl 38, as it is has the higest power output at 34 for me right now.
- Second layer is the Armoury in the middle, flanked with the Medical hab and the Workshop. Most of the rest is cargo and Jump Drive. Also conected to that layr is the Cockpit, which is the Cabot C3 Bridge, as it has the stairs and make the whole ship have no ladders at all !
- Bottom layer is the Landing bay and the rest is landing gears, plus some more Engine Mounts for the other 3 engines.

Impressive stuff! I prefer your more streamlined silhouette (to the ship you based it on) - I was wondering how you got 81 mobility with that cargo capacity - then I realised you had six engines  you're gonna need a mod with some bigger reactors!

Thanks ! And yeah, those SAL engines as you probably already know, is the only ones of the C class that you can have 6 each of. Would love a bigger reactor but guess the next upgrade will be at level 49, as I can get a 38 power engine, then the max one at level 57, or 60, depending on which of the two I want to use. Unless I have a total different ship by then !

I'm using the SF 40 Sheared Flow Reactor in my ship (40 power, level 57) although it has limited mounting points. With Sam or Amelia on board I get an extra 1 power on the engines plus another 5 points for max level Aneutronic Fusion plus one more point for having Vasco on board.

I have 36 points in reactor now, having taking 1 skill in the Aneutronic Fusion after you mentioned it here. But I see I have one green bar in both Shield and Engine, which I presume is from having Sam and Vasco onboard the ship (and makes the total of the reactor points to be 38) ? But having Barrett onboard don't seem to give any additional points to the ship ?? I just added Andrea to the crew as well, so guess I find out once we are airborn if she adds another point somewhere or not ! Is there others that add points to the ships, part from Amelia whom I have not yet meet ?!

Edit: Forgot to add this too.

The shield point comes from one of your other crew members (Barrett maybe? Can't remember off hand) Vasco gives one point of general reactor power.

Good. Maybe TH will get the idea. Work on and improve what made Fallout 3 special. Don't strip out all the rpg and dumb it down.

I wanted Fallout 3 in space :(

Fallout 3 + Freelancer combined would have been excellent!

That's actually quite sad, deserved but sad.

Yup it is.

I was really disappointed, I wanted so much to get really immersed into it's world, like with Skyrim and Fallout, and I gave it a good go as well hoping something would click, but alas no.

I'm glad it's got such poor reviews actually, as you say, deserved.

Hopefully Bethesda will learn something and something will change/improve, maybe for Starfield, or maybe it's too late to save, but take it on board for the next Skyrim/Fallout.

I've 100% Starfield on Steam achievements, still can't recommend it. A handful of decent missions among dozens, so much wasted potential on the planets, a horrible base system that makes absolutely no sense when you think about it etc.

Missed opportunity in some many regards.

For those that like ship building but not yet know exactly what all the habs looks like, this might be a good video to have a look at. The youtuber is showing every hab there is, so yes, it is over 2 hours long but there are timestamps so if you just want to see what the armoury looks like on each one, you can quickly just go there etc.

They also made one for the cockpits and bridges too:
